Good idea in theory until you need to clean it

I really wanted to like this mat. In fact, I bought two since I needed more space for drying things. Previously, we had cloth/microfiber mats that eventually just permanently smelled like mildew no matter what I did--even straight out of the dryer. So silicone to the rescue! Except...these are impossible to clean. The description notes you can put them in the dishwasher, but they are so floppy that it is difficult to see how this would really work. Most dishwashers need to be able to circle the water around, so placing mats across the top rack would just end up blocking the flow of water. Further, you'd need to run a load with just the mat in the top rack, likely.Scrubbing this by hand is also super difficult because the mat is so floppy. I placed it on a cutting board in the sink to try and scrub it with hot soapy water and a sponge but had to spend 15 minutes trying to get in all the little areas of the ridges on top. Upon drying, I could see lots of areas I missed. I also attempted using a rag to see if that would get in the nooks and crannies better - not so great. Then, where to put it? Do most people have a hook hanging over their sink to allow water from something as large as this mat to drip dry? I do not have anywhere to hang dry this. Attempted to dry it with a towel but the crevices in the back of the mat trap water and it is impossible to dry them. I don't want to put a wet mat with trapped water back on my countertop - sounds like mold waiting to happen! And they are too floppy to prop up to dry.In short - good idea in theory, super frustrating to clean. Will likely go back to cloth mats. Sigh.

    Perfect for our needs.

We have a smaller dish rack, so this is perfect for pots and pans. It'll be easy to store away and it looks nice when we decide not to.

Looks better than a rack on my counter

Works great - holds plenty of water that drips down. Washes clean easily - dish soap & a brush do the job. It's big enough to hold a decent amount of dishes.
