Grammatik aktiv: A1 - B1 Paperback – June 10, 2013

This book is great. It is well structured and explains each grammar point well (sadly only in German though). What makes it so great is that it doesn’t just explain it and move on. It has extremely helpful exercises for each grammar point with several approaches of practice. If you do all the exercises, you are bound to understand each concept well. German grammar is extremely complex and I feel like this book breaks it down and if you use it, it keeps you from searching the web for explanations that may or not be accurate. One of my favorite aspects is that it isn’t just a dull, black-and-white book. It has some pictures and colors which makes it easier for me to pay attention and be more interested.My only complaint would be that it would be difficult for learners with no German vocabulary knowledge. If you don’t know many German words, it would be best not to start with this, as you’ll have to translate a lot of words (it should be more A2 to B1). It works really well as supplementary grammar material, but when it comes to vocabulary or speaking, I would recommend studying elsewhere in addition to this book.Overall though, I’m very happy with this book!

This workbook is amazing to help someone with cementing what they've learned in a college German class, or using apps like Duolingo. As I started working up to Chapter 10, there are only a few words that I saw and didn't know. The book is written entirely in German so it may not be ideal for absolute beginners. Each book has a unique code to redeem for audio files that narrate every lesson.

I am using this book to study for my B1 exam through the Goethe Institut.First off though, it's 100% in German. Not a problem for me, but it might be a problem for others.It's an excellent book. It has short, bite-sized, generally clear explanations of key points of German grammar (most grammar book explanations are not short and often not as clear), followed by two pages of exercises regarding that point.My only real complaint is that the paper is so shiny that it's sometimes hard to read under normal lighting.

This is a good book to exercise German grammar, Klett is an excellent German publisher. This is not a teaching book but a workbook which provides exercises to the most diverse grammatical challenges of the German language. Not adequate for absolute beginners, I believe that students will need to score at least as A1 or even A2 in the official placement test ("Goethe Institut") in order to even understand the exercises.

I highly recommend this book for A1 and A2 students looking for clear explanations of grammar concepts and exercises that break down key concepts. Note that this is this book is entirely in German (the English version doesn't appear to be available anymore), but as an A2 student, I had no problems. The best part is all the charts--finally, someone who can take the mystery out of declension!The seller is also great--the book arrived faster than I expected for being an international order and was in pristine condition.

The explanations are simple and to the point. Very easy to understand. The controlled exercises give you some initial practice of the material. I think it is worth using the chapters to study the grammar topics your are in doubt.

Really nothing to dislike from my perspective. The text is well-organized, clear and has handy and distinctive characters illustrating concepts.. Easy to read and review. Fairly comprehensive grammatical coverage of mostused grammar, while also utilizing helpful vocabulary and identifying German words for the constituent grammatical concepts. An excellent book/text.
