Fun! Fun! Fun!
Being 80 years old, I wanted to make sure I had a little traction on the stairs to my home in the loft of a barn. I cut the extras into squares and made a checkerboard at the first landing. They seem to have good adhesive for bare wood.

ADDFUN, Vinyl Stair Nosing,7Ft Self Adhesive Stair Edge Protector.
I received this, ADDFUN Vinyl Stair Nosing,7Ft Self Adhesive Stair Edge Protector, Anti-Slip Stair Corner Trim Rubber Strips, Stair Edge Molding, Waterproof Outdoor & Indoor Staircase Treads on December 27, 2023. I did unroll it, laid it out flat and measured the length, it was about 6 feet 5 inches, 7 inches short of 7 feet. I recently had to replace my outdoor cement steps for the entry door. I tried to do a repair with a vinyl cement repair product, that worked for a couple of years or so. I live in a winter state and get plenty of sleet, freezing rain, snow and below zero weather, using salt for melting the ice and snow on the steps, for keeping safe from slipping and falling on the icy steps. The salt and melting ice, gets into the repaired areas, then it refreezes under the repair areas. The freeze, thaw, cycle causes the repaired areas to give out and break up, needing to get repaired again. Over the years, the steps have had more and more areas that needed repair. I finally decided to build a treated wood stairs over 3 of the 4 steps up to the landing of the entry door. I wanted to apply something non-slip on to the wood replacement steps, for the winter hazards of snow, ice and times when it rains, which also can get the steps slippery. I found this product, that has a vinyl traction strip on the top. It can be cut to length with a scissors. I also liked that the adhesive was already on this item, just pull the covering off and press the stair edging onto the stair. I already have placed a sandpaper like traction product in thr center of the steps, that also had the adhesive on it. I believe with this stair nose edge protector/traction product and the other sandpaper type of traction product applied to the steps, that will make the stairs safer in the rain, ice and snow. I am not able to put this item on the steps at this time, the cold weather and not being able to make sure the steps are clean, before placing this product on the stair edges, it needs to be done in warmer weather. The cold makes this vinyl stair edge stiff and hard, not having the steps clean, would probably make the adhesive not stick very well or not at all. I do know that the sandpaper like non-slip products do wear out and have some areas come off over time from use and the hot, cold, wet, ice, snow types of weather we get in our area. I think this vinyl edge product, would stand up better and last longer, but most likely would have similar problems and need replacing. That is something you have to expect, especially in the upper Mid-West where I live. All in all, it is a matter of trying to make it safe as possible, this is a product that addresses that issue and a good choice to use.

Comes rolled up in a ball - NOT FLAT
Will review further once we attempt to install - but disappointingly the strip comes rolled up in a bundle so there are creases every 8-10 inches along the length. I hung the strip upside down from a height to try to get it flat, that didn't seem to help. Now I've got the strip laid out flat and stretched to see how long it takes the creases to flatten out. My concern is that when I try to apply the item to the stair edge - it wont lay flat and adhere - there might be a bubble where the bend in the product is. Will update once we attempt install...

Very poor quality. Did not stick to surface. Will have to be removed and replaced with something else of better quality.

Easy to install and it looks great!
This nosing was surprisingly very easy to install. I measured from wall to wall, marked my ends, and cut it with a good pair of scissors. It was very easy to cut the ends. After making the cut, I pulled the adhesive sticker off of it and stuck it right in place. The adhesion is very tough and it has a pretty good grip on my laminate flooring. It doesn't peel up easily. at all. I was so suprised because of the quality of the material and the simple fact that the material. It look absolutely great as if a professional did the work. I wish that I would have found this a long time ago. It's cost effective, less hassle with the install, and made with quality. I would highly recommend this! I love it!
