I visited one of the major aesthetic/hair removal salons a few years ago and paid a whole lot of money for laser hair removal. It was a long, somewhat painful, and super expensive process. It was successful and I had very minimal regrowth in the areas that were treated. Since then, I have wanted to treat other areas but simply could not afford the thousands that it would cost to do it again. Then, just recently, I came across this Braun system and decided to try it.The first thing that I loved about it was the fact that I could download an app and have it walk me through the setup and skin test. The next great thing was how smart the machine itself was: it actually read the tone of my skin to determine whether or not it was going to be usable for me. Then, there was the pain factor. I remember being very uncomfortable during the process when I did it at the chain salon years ago, and I anticipated the same using the Braun. I was wrong. There was a slight sting, but it was nowhere near what I experienced before.Overall, I was super impressed with the device and everything that came with it. The kit included 3 different head sizes that correspond to different body areas. There was also a Venus razor and a nice carrying case to store everything.I did struggle a bit to justify the price tag to myself, but compared to the cost of a salon package, it was totally worth it. The results have been spot on- I have noticed a reduction in hair regrowth and feel like it will continue to get better and better. I am letting a couple other family members use it too and they have had similar results. I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

I start this review by saying I was a little anxious about any kind of laser hair removal. I decided to go for it anyways because I do not like shaving. The cuts, irritation, ingrown hairs that can happen often and easily. I am also a glasses wearer so showering and shaving isn't possible. I made sure to read all the instructions so I could really digest it before trying. It was very simple to use, connected with the app easily and the app itself works great. I will say because it's not right in the description, but if you have very dark or very light skin, it DOES not work. Its listed on the packaging but easy to miss if you don't read a lot before purchasing. Its important to use the app because it keeps track of the flashes and helps you keep on track with your hair removal sessions. I have hair that is different in each area, overall though I'd say medium thickness and so far it's worked well for me! For some reason my genes decided to give me very thick dense hair on my arms thats semi thick and darker (it looks mismatched) than the rest of me. My arms are the spot I am looking to eliminate hair from the most and my main reason for getting this product! I decided to try on my legs before getting into the arms, my legs are covered up more and probably more sensitive. So far it works well on my legs!

Opening up the product you immediately are provided a large card with a QR code to link you to their app. The app provides initial setup including instructions and a test step as well as scheduling features in order to keep track of your sessions.The app provides a means to track multiple different areas that you are working on that may have a different schedule or been started at different times. This is a really nice feature which helps ensure proper use and effect.Using the actual product is quite easy and while very bright (might want to wear sunglasses) the feeling of being zapped is small and tolerable. The manual suggests you just look away but I found that not only a bit awkward but also less user friendly than just watching it with protective eyewear on. In general the manual suggests that so long as the product is pressed firmly on the skin, the light emitted will not hurt you but it is bright.My only grip with the product is the confusion between the app and the manual. It seems to me, although I may be wrong about this, you have to pair the device to the app before it'll actually start zapping. The manual however does not mention this step at all. The instructions are quite clear in the manual on how to turn it on, the various features, and how you should operate it. After reading the manual I assumed I could just perform my test section just based off of that alone, however I was not able to get it to start zapping until paired with the app.Once paired with the app however it seemed to have no problem being used outside of the app. You power it on, click the big button once, it heats up, then you press into your skin and zap.So TLDR: install the app, pair it, and follow the instructions through the app. Afterwards you can read the manual for some more detailed written instructions and safety warnings but the app is required for initial setup (so far as I could tell). If the manual had made it clear that the first step was pairing it with the app, I would have given this 5 stars.
