Pestbye® Waterproof Cat Repellent - Solar Powered - Quick Fix Ultrasonic Repeller Cat Scarer with Ground Stake - Set of 1

After being dogged by the local feline menagerie with anal deposits all over my lawn I tried this device after a recommendation by someone at work. I got one (not solar powered) for my lower lawn and the amount of poo definitely reduced. The side effect was an increase of the stuff on my upper lawn, which is when I discovered the solar powered equivalent. Now both lawns have protection and both are free of unbidden messages. One thing to bear in mind is that if you allow young people in your garden they are very likely to get quite upset because their young ears are receptive to the high frequency sounds emitted by the devices. This is not a problem for me though; indeed, I get the added benefit of deterring young hooligans. Disclaimer: I have also lined my lawn borders with pellets of lion poo so this may well be helping to keep the cat population at bay. However, I observed that its effectiveness on its own had begun to wane, which is why I'm using these devices as an additional weapon. A note on battery life - the non solar powered one has been in use for over a year and I've only had to change the batteries once. The solar powered one (which is really a solar assisted one, since it still needs batteries) is too new for me to comment on battery life but it will be interesting to see if they last longer in that one.

I bought this to deter dog fouling in our garden. I had previously had a mains powered Pestbye model which, unfortunately, they no longer sell. This solar one worked fine for three weeks then it stopped working. Primrose, the seller, was very good and sent out a replacement promptly. Solar seems to charge in summer. We'll see how it works in winter with longer nights, which is when the lovely dog owners can't be bothered to clear up their dog's mess if they think no one is looking. Don't you just love 'em?

I've used these Pestbye units for some years, but this was the first solar powered one I splashed out on. Don't waste money on a solar-powered one - just get the one in which you change the batteries manually, as that's what my solar powered one turned into after 12 months. They work with most of the neighbourhood cats - just not the deaf one! Not sure they work well on squirrels, I'm trying different frequencies now, since the '4' setting that works on cats doesn't have any effect on squirrels. I use rechargeable batteries - they power it fine. Not sure how waterproof the battery compartment cover is, so I put duct tape over it after replacing the batteries. The PIR window is fairly fragile - I've managed to break one somehow so need to glue it once the inside has dried out thoroughly!

I bought this as I needed something to get rid of the cats as they were doing their business in my front and back garden. I don't have a cat and I didn't want to to be cleaning up my neighbours cats poo. I bought one initially for the back garden, it took a few days to notice a reduction in the poo, and then after around 2 weeks it did the trick and so far no more mess to clean up. I then bought another for the front garden and again, after around one week it has done the job nicely. They seem like a good quality product and easy to set up. I was initially worried about the sound it omits as I have 2 young children (2 and 5) and was worried it may cause them some disruption, but no issues at all. Well worth the money to keep pests out of the garden.

Bought 2 of these for the garden as the entire neighborhood's cats were fouling everywhere. One device doesn't seem to be waterproof. It looks like water has got inside and as a result the deterrent sound is now just squeaking pitifully. Debatable how effective they have been detering the cats as we still see several in the garden but without wanting to tempt fate, the fouling seems to have decreased.

I brought one of these as I was fed up of my neighbours cats taking dumps all over my rear path. A battle I couldn't win repellents or even my own urine. Apparently it is illegal to kill someone's pets but they can't relate to scooping up 27 stinky turds this month alone doesn't drive you to a sadistic streak than you are a better person then me. After one day there were no more turds and I can now walk through not smelling crap. The cats were not happy with this arrangement so they chose to conduct there dirty business on the front path of the house. I brought a second device for the war on poo terror. This has not been as successful but with tweaking the poo has dropped by 95%. A fox is joining in on the fun but that is minimal issue for another time. If you managed to read through this ranting and raving I do recommend this product

No funciona en absoluto

Wir waren skeptisch aber so verzweifelt dass wir es versucht haben. Seit dem ersten Tag der Nutzung haben wir KEINE EINZIGE Katzen Hinterlassenschaft mehr auf unserem Rasen!!! Ich habe einfach den Regler auf volle Lotte gestellt und es wirkt! Ganz einfach! Ich liebe Dinge die funktionieren.

Le jardin de ma mère était dévasté par tous les chats de voisinage venant y faire leurs besoins. L'appareil est très efficace, les chats ne viennent plus dans son jardin et vont donc faire leurs besoins ailleurs. Je recommande aux utilisateurs de lire les recommandations d'usage que l'on trouve sur Internet (surtout en Angleterre) pour bien faire les 2 réglages des boutons. Cela a marché du premier coup pour moi. Je signale que le rechargement par batterie solaire est efficace pour le moment (après 2 semaines d'utilisation).

Das Gerät soll unseren großen Topf neben der Haustüre vor dem Markieren der Kater schützen. (Stinkt wirklich eklig!) Es ist jetzt 2 Wochen in Betrieb, davon hatten wir eine Woche Dauerfrost, dann Starkregen. Bis jetzt gibt es keine Beanstandung. Natürlich gewöhnen sich die Kater daran, dann muss der Regler wieder verändert werden (was wir mit einer Kamera verfolgen können). Die Akkus wurden ganz aufgeladen und machen bis jetzt mit. Bin gespannt, wie lange.
