It burst, causing bodily damage
This product failed to live up to its claim that it supports 1000+ pounds and as a result, seriously injured colleague who was doing core chest presses. The ball was only a few months old, and burst, causing two dumbbells to collapse on my colleague and breaking his forearm in two. I called customer service (the number was hard to find) and left a message right after the holidays. I'm now taking the time to flag this product and company and expect/ hope that a representative will contact me.

EXTREMELY SHOCKED
I own a few Black Mountain Products and have always been more than satisfied with the quality, durability, and ease of operation. When researching different exercise balls for my wife for Christmas it was a no-brainer to go with a company I've used before. I've dealt with BlackMountain Products customer service before and they were outstanding and not only their demeanor but their warrantee replacement as well. When she opened her present the first thing she said was "hey this is the same company as your resistant bands!" So she was thrilled that she got a medicine ball made by a reputable company that we know. When she inflated the exercise ball using only the pump that came with it, she was eager to try it out. As soon as she sat on the ball it popped, causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head. When I came into the room she was sitting on the floor dazed and upset. We immediately looked at the information card that came with the ball only to find that it was rated for 2000 pounds! My first thought was that the ball maybe was sitting on something sharp like a stone or piece of glass but after sweeping the room we found no such debris in the dust pan. The ball didn't just have a puncture, it split all the way around as if cut with scissors. It didn't slowly leak out with air, it burst all at once. By the way my wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant and was planning on using the ball to aid in the delivery process that was recommended by our OBG/YN. Although landing on the floor and bumping her head was emotionally dramatic and itself, we are fortunate that she didn't land on her stomach or injure the baby in any way. I'm writing this review on January 2, 2017, I've tried to contact Black Mountain Products via telephone several times today as I assumed they would be closed over the previous holiday weekend. Every single time I call I get a disconnected telephone signal and am unable to reach anybody from customer service. As I mentioned earlier this unfortunate event with what we thought was going to be a promising product is not only shocking but demoralizing because we have always held Black Mountain Products in such high regard. I am hoping that this review will generate interest from Black Mountain Products and hopefully reach out to me as I am on able to reach them.

Beware! Exploded one early morning for no apparent reason at all
My wife was very happy with this ball. Suddenly after 6 months indoor use it exploded while we were sleeping one very early morning for no apparent reason at all. We thought something heavy had fallen off the walls. When my wife went to inspect she found the ball in our exercise room - literately shredded by the explosion. Very worrying to think of what could have happened if it had been used at the moment of explosion. We live in a modern hard-wood floored apartment. There no needles, nails or other sharp stuff lying around anywhere. We therefore read through all the reviews here and elsewhere to see if its a problem with this ball. And can see that it happens to some customers. Not that anti-burst...

Excellent ball; a word about "stretching"
After browsing a bewildering assortment of balance/stability balls from different manufacturers and reading the amazon customer reviews, I settled on this Black Mountain Products ball. In a word, it's fabulous.I am 5'7", so I got the 65cm/26" ball. My job has recently entailed being tied to my desk like never before. Getting up 2-3 times a day and taking a run down and up three flights of stairs, and walking at lunch, does not help the hips to stay in place. After months of increasing pain and squirming around, I decided to get a ball to sit on. Since I work at one of those modern cubicle-counter-tops-sitting-on-file-cabinets it is higher than a desk should be, and I was concerned about the height of the ball but so far, so good.Based on other amazon customers who had bought different brands, further selling points for me for this particular ball were: a smooth, non-sticky texture (one thing other-brand ball customers complained about) and no vinyl/rubber smell whatsoever beyond the faintest whiff for 2 seconds when removed from its bag. The 2000-lb burst rating was also a factor. All of the other reviews mention that any balance ball needs to stretch after being inflated. Here's an additional word to anyone who has just gotten their ball and thinks they got the wrong ball size by mistake: So did I. Give it time - the ball quite LITERALLY needs to breathe, expand, stretch, and get bigger. It seems impossible. I inflated it to what I thought was nearly bursting point, and my husband and I measured it; the height was barely 22" (which is the smaller sized ball) and the circumference when measured with a piece of string was 51". There is no marker on the ball to indicate which size it actually is. I put the ball in a safe corner and decided I would contact the manufacturer on Monday morning. Had dinner and watched a movie, and 3 hours later checked on the ball. It looked bigger. I started pumping it up more. In two minutes, it looked enormous. Measured the circumference again with string, measured the string with a carpenter's tape measure...and darned if it wasn't at 80" just where it was supposed to be for the 65cm/26" ball! All in all, an excellent value for the price. (It would be nice if it came in a color other than black.)

This ball is cool. It came with really clear instructions - what height and diameter you need to inflate it to - which is good as it takes an eternity to pump up (with the tiny foot pump, as electric ones don't work with it) and for a while seems not willing to expand. But the instructions are really clear to keep going as it's made of really thick material and needs to be pushed to get to correct size. I used chalk to mark diameter as it was a marathon. The leaflet says its made by a family company (I got the recommendation for the brand from a US fitness blog) and it looks cute and tough. I have had it for a week or so and have just re-inflated it to keep it super sized. I read lots of reviews and fitness blogs before purchasing because my back is not good - and it's really boring to have to wade through promotions and paid for reviews on amazon, so I thought I would review. The only recommendation is that it would be better with a larger foot pump (but that would make it more expensive, and it's really good value for money I think).

The red was no inlet valve was no better given it was escaping air on the pump down
The ball itself seems ok, but the provided pump is not fit for purpose. Even before the ball was a third pumped up the spring inside the pump punctured the yellow casing. After taping the hole up I carried on only for the blue rubber connector sealing the pipe to the pump housing to come off. The red inlet valve was no better given it was leaking air on the pump down. The ball is only 2/3 inflated and the pump beyond saving. I advise you to buy a better pump along with this ball, it will be a lot quicker, and hopefully not fall apart part way through!

Good quality ball
Good quality ball. Worth the higher price. Still, despite being anti-burst, it did burst for me but I inflated it a lot.
