Failed under normal use.
Failed with no warning. Suddenly became quite hot, no display, no way to power it off or reset, no response from long press on power and now appears to power on but does not display anything or provide any warning beeps. The Manufacturer makes it nearly impossible to file any sort of warranty claim, there are a few contacts listed but it directs you to contact the seller not them, and seller only has a phone number in mainland china that no one seems to ever answer. A bit sus that the seller seems to reset their storefront every year so that none of the bad review history is accessible. This is the first GPD device I have had problems with and despite buying them from the "same" seller over the years somehow the seller only has reviews for 2024 now.Prior to failure a few things to note. The device is very power limited on the CPU unless you use some beta software that is quite possibly what killed it. There is no way to unplug the battery if it does have a runaway and you are unable to hard reset it.It managed to stop functioning in such a catastrophic way that none of the data was recoverable on the ssd though the ssd appears to still function normally. The storage is good, fast, and name brand. The ram runs at a slower speed than indicated but runs stable even when a high % is consumed. The thermal solution appears to be insufficient and the CPU was never able to maintain base clock under gaming load. The micro sd slot has very good read and write speeds. The display has cellphone like pixel density but not very good color accuracy and since it is designed for portrait mode has strange vertical tearing if the game you are running drops below 60fps.The keyboard manages to be reasonable functional for the most basic use.The game pad controls are quite good and center well with no drift.Like previous GPD devices I have owned it appears well made with reasonable fit and finish but after a short time of use it failed and so far I have been unable to find any way to file a warranty claim.

The device works fine if you will just be using GPD win devices
Most of the Bios options were locked out on the model I received. It refused to see any Oculink devices, nor thunderbolt devcies. Or rather it would see them but, would inform me that Resizable bar support was disabled. I went into the Bios to discover that it have been disabled as a options. So, this device was useless to me. However, if you want a really expensive Asus Rog Ally, sure go for this.

Incredible machine
No other handheld is necessary. This one does everything and the mechanical keyboard - as opposed to an on-screen keyboard - makes a world of difference.
