Did the job
Having had someone mess up on installing the lock, the original escutcheon wouldn't screw in (as the key hole was too big). This item resolved the wood-butchery issue, however, it became apparent that the draught now coming through the door was unacceptable, so I resorted to riveting the original escutcheon to the new plate.Great quality plate, I have to say.

Good value
I received this Key hole cover and it does the job. Others I have seen are double/treble the price. My advice is to hold the cover up to the keyhole and position the key so it fits in straight and not at an angle. Take the key out and mark one hole against the door. Fit one screw so it holds the plate “square” then put the key back inThe keyhole to make sure it fits correctly. If yes, then fit t diagonal screw second to make the plate fit so it looks straight. Nothing looks worse than a slanting keyhole cover.

Decent plate with horrible screws.
The plate, which is indeed solid and decently built, came with 4 tiny FLAT screws with a super tight thread that was impossible to screw in place on wood past the melamine. I ended up sourcing different screws with a philips head to keep my sanity.

Look Good
Nicely made and ideal for doors where, over time, the timber round the keyhole has deteriated and its difficult to fit traditional round escutcheons.Highly recommend
