Built in AI Facial Tracking Sensor | Gesture Control | Dual-Handle Grip | Payload 2.65 lbs - Black : Electronics Review: This is a SOLID PERFORMER for big phones , action cams, and mirrorless pro cameras - I've owned many gimbals, by DJI, Zhiyun, and Feiyu. The Scorp Mini-2 is an update of the original Mini, and it's a super-solid performer. Once I got the firmware updates installed, I started testing features. I already had experience with this model, and the important thing I can add to this review is that the latest firmware brings this thing up to best-of-class performance. While you can use the app to address all of the features, it's also possible to do so via the touch-screen interface on the Gimbal. This works just like other Feiyu gimbals and gimbal-based mini cams...sliding your finger across the screen opens up different menus depending on where you slide. It's very logical once you get the hang of it. Battery life seems to be good when working with a heavy phone (a Samsung S22 Ultra in a case, for me). The gimbal absorbs a LOT of movement, and in particular, I like the pan-tilt mode very much. The gimbal behaves predictably, and I find it to be easily controllable and fluid in its responses. The AI assist for shooting solo is particularly good. While I don't do all that much of that type of shooting, I do some, and this is a great feature. When you shoot with the Feiyu cam app, you gain functionality from the various button/knob inputs on the device. Tying the Zoom to the side-knob is a particularly nice feature. You could also set it up to rack focus. And there are interesting scenarios built in, like a dolly-zoom simulation, etc. All very cool, if you're making social media content that benefits from very active camera attitudes. All in all, this is an outstanding gimbal for the price. It's about half the size of my Ronin S, which is overkill for small camera use. But that cost me almost $700 in the "kit" form, and this south of $150. It's very hard to argue with that kind of value. And frankly, the Ronin S did not live up to the stabilization smoothness of my Ronin M--AT ALL. So, I'm pretty pleased. My first gimbal cost me a pile of money. Now I can get more features for less than a tenth of the price. I'm particularly excited to see Feiyu delivering one good product after another. I love my little Pocket 3...it has great features, and is perfect for automotive shots, etc., with its light weight and magnetic bottom. Likewise, the Scorp Mini-2 puts together a comprehensive and fun feature set, that is equal parts functional and inspiring. I can't say enough good things about a product like that. Bravo. Five Stars. Review: got this to use with my phone, but the included phone holder is bad - Feiyu SCORP Mini-2 All-in-1 Gimbal Stabilizer for Mirrorless/Action Cameras and Smartphones. 1.3" OLED Touchscreen, Integrated AI Tracking. Compatible with GoPro 12/11, Canon, Sony, iPhone - Black coming from the scorp -c i was pretty excited for this, marketed to smaller cameras and phones. as my scorp c is a bit on the heavy side and kind of unwieldy, and the mini 2 does not dissappoint being a little more than half a pound lighter. so thats good its also not as big, the arms arent as wide feeling. but being as though i got this for a note 10+ a fairly decent sized phone i am a little dissappointed at the phone holder. it is integrated into the system well, but it is 1) a spring loaded catch, and 2) not deep enough in the pocket for a phone with a case. really? you want me to put my 1400$ phone with my entire life on it, into a spring loaded catch on a spinning ferris wheel device and not allow room for a protective case that i use all of the time even if i have it on my desk? why because who takes off the protective case. they dont let you swap batteries out anymore, so there is literally zero reasons to take the protective case off the phone to preserve its protectiveness. nah, it'll be fine. we made the phone holder mechanism just shallow enough to allow you to remove the protective case. oh and what? you have a proprietary base configuration so i dont have to buy a proper phone holder that clamp screws tight onto the phone and actually fits a protective case? good thinking feiyutech. alright so moving on. there are some changes to the design, 2 that stick out for me the ai tracking is pretty outstanding--there is an integrated camera and must have a computer or something reading what the camera sees to keep things dialed in, this is pretty fantastic. also, the new toggle joy stick is just better. its more like a video game joystick i guess, it may not be everyones cup of tea, but i rather like it. so, yeah sure pick one up. i know i complained a bit, but i have special needs, and worries and what not. and those things are easily solved, i will just use this with my nikon z7ii, which apparently can connect to the scorp mini via cable, so that it integrates the features in a better way. i really wanted this to be for my phone. i think i will end up modifying one of my proper clampable phone camera mounts to fit the proprietary track. its very cool, the tracking is next level. some dumb things but there are always some dumb things.

Best for lightweight cameras
I've been spoiled by the numerous DJI Ronin gimbals I've owned, so this Feiyu SCORP took a bit getting used to. It's a bit trickier to balance, especially if you're using a mirrorless full frame camera. (As other reviewers have suggested, it's probably best used with a smaller action camera or a smaller point and shoot.) It's got a separate dial which can be set up for smooth pans and tilts, which I like. Also, the handle on the top makes it easy to go into "flashlight mode" and transition into some great low angle shots. The extra pieces you need to attach means, unless you want to disassemble the gimbal before you pack it up, you won't be using the box it comes in as a travel case. It's a nice, small package, so it struggled a bit with my Sony A7Siii, even with a small 20mm lens. Despite that, there are a lot of good qualities to this gimbal...for smaller, lighter cameras.
