Anker Power Strip with 300J Surge Protector, 5ft Outlet Extender, 20W, 6AC

We have these all over the house, I am so glad I invested in them and continue to buy this specific model with the spaced plugs slanting in two directions and the end ports. The USB-C port really does charge fast like a newer iPhone charger block! But the biggest test was that I bought one to take with me recently on a work onsite. I flew with it in my bag and it wraps up nicely to not take up too much space and not have to be pulled out for TSA in the airport. My whole team uses MacBooks, though, and being able to plug a MacBook charger with its huge charging block into every single plug without a problem was a huge hit!!! The middle of the conference table only had two plugs on each side, so this really was a game changer for all of us and my teammates were asking where they could get surge protector for home. Even with all of the plugs taken up with giant MacBook chargers, the USB-C chargers didn’t lose any kind of power when people also plugged in other devices in the end at the same time. Someone told me a long time ago that Anker was worth the investment and I have to stay from personal experience that I would rather wait and buy an Anker surge protector, then buy a crappy cheap one because they just lasted so much longer and perform so much better. They also never get the loose plug problem that most power strips get. And as an added bonus, they go on sale pretty often so we’ve slowly replaced old surge protectors around the house and even with the kids using them frequently, they have been holding up quite well.

This Anker power strip works great for everyday use. It has enough outlets for my devices without taking up too much space, and the surge protection gives me extra peace of mind. The build quality feels solid, and the compact design makes it easy to place on a desk or beside a bed. Overall, a simple and useful power strip that does the job well.

I purchased this Anker power strip for my daughter's dorm room, and it has been a great addition. It's definitely more expensive than many other power strips, but Anker is a brand I trust, and the build quality shows. The 10-foot cord, flat plug, six outlets, and mix of USB-A and USB-C ports make it perfect for charging all of her devices without needing extra adapters. The only downside is the higher price, but if you're looking for a reliable, well-made power strip for a dorm or home office, I think it's worth the investment.

I love Anker products. The Anker Power Strip with 300J Surge Protector is the perfect size for my teacher bag as well as for traveling. It is not bulky like my Anker cube. What's more, I can plug usb-c and usb-a cords directly into it. It is worth the money and it seems like durability will not be an issue. Surge protection is important to me as I do not want to fry my tech which has happened before with non-name brand extension cords. My opinion is you can't go wrong with Anker and I expect the Anker Power Strip with 300J Surge Protector last.

perfect, needed it to go under a couch and under a rug. it was flat enough to not be felt when walking over it with the run on top. Plenty of outlets for where we needed it and for the cost. Haven't had any issues with it. The flat plug is great for keeping a low profile on the wall

Overall this performs well, and I really like the the flat cord and low profile wall plug. The cord is sufficiently long and an indicator light helps you find the strip in dimly lit areas. The only issue I've encountered is with the two USB ports – if I plug two lights for conference calls into the ports, each LED light flickers and is not steady. Not sure the cause of that, but it's definitely a limiting factor.

I trust Anker as a product. I have used many of their power strips over the years in my home and my office. I ordered two of the 300J Surge Protectors, one for my desk at home and one for my desk in the office. The Surge Protector have a 5ft chord, which give decent reach but can also be tied up nicely for a shorter reach. The block is rather compact and features 6 Traditional outlets mounted on an angle so there is space and reach for each outlet, i appreciate this as I used them in a cable management tray to keep my cables tidy and out of the way! It also has two USB-A and Two USB-C on the end of the block. With this power strip, I am powering a laptop, a monitor, my phone, a kindle and my alexa device.

*UPDATE 6/18/24* - Anker Customer Service reached out to me to troubleshoot my problem. What they recommended was the following (in case anyone else has a similar problem): "Regarding the issue, please try the following to see if it helps: - Please only use 1 single USB-C port and keep the other USB ports empty without any devices/cables plugged in to see how the charger works. - Please let the charger sit for 5 min without being plugged into the outlet and without anything plugged into the charger itself." Sadly this didn't work for me. (My husband suspects that perhaps the USB-C ports were either not soldered properly in place or not enough. Without opening it up, we can't be sure and I am not opening it up.) Anker CS offered a refund or replacement. I decided to give this product another try. They sent a replacement. Their CS was very communicative and responsive. My update to this review is because when I got the replacement power strip I went on vacation immediately after, and then forgot to update when I got back. The replacement works perfectly! Have it all set up and am using USB-C and USB-A ports at the same time with no problem. The one that doesn't fully work my oldest is using for their school laptop (doing summer school), phone cord, and a lamp. Likely will plug their Alexa into it too since where the power strip is more convenient for the Echo. I'll leave my original review below to give context to this top portion. ///////Original Review Below/////// I have consistently looked to Anker since way back when I had a Samsung S9 (probably earlier) and needed a charging cord. They are my go-to when I am looking for power strips, power banks, heck I even enjoy and constantly look to their Soundcore line. So to say I was disappointed in this power strip is an understatement. More like a complete letdown. The USB-A and the AC outlets work great! They do what they are supposed to do. It's the USB-C ports, something I got this specific power strip for, that fail. At first, I thought it was my cords, but taking them and plugging them to other outlets in my home and car quickly told me that wasn't the case. And I can't return it as, being so confident in this item, I tossed the box before trying out all the plugs. (Learned my lesson.) Also, I have mounted this on the underside of my desk and have a slight scratch around the screw mount holes from doing so. And no, I don't think that caused the USB-Cs to not work. They didn't work before I did that. I'll still use this power strip because I need it. It will make me hesitate to recommend this product or another Anker product to others in the future.

When I first unboxed it, I was surprised by how compact it was yet it had enough outlets to accommodate my laptop, phone, and speakers. The build quality feels solid and the sleek design fits perfectly on my desk without taking up too much space. After using it daily, I can say that the multiple USB ports are a game changer. I no longer have to search for wall adapters; I can just plug my devices in directly. However, it does get a bit warm if you have too many things plugged in at once, which honestly makes me a little nervous. I've had it struggle a bit when all ports are used simultaneously, but if you’re mindful of what you’re charging and using, it shouldn’t be an issue.
