Hard & Tasteless
I'm changing my review from three to five stars. At first, Wee Oliver has no interest in these. "You're trying to entice behavior with THIS?" he asked with a baleful glare. They seem to have no smell, and are very hard. HOWEVER, as he was a new little rescue dog, he has spent the last month gaining confidence and becoming less finicky, so he's all over these little treats now. It seems it was Oliver, and not the treat that was the problem.

Perfect for her new strict diet
My dog was recently diagnosed with a liver condition, and I’ve been doing research to find her a safe, crunchy dog treat. I’m thrilled to find these, and she loves them! They fit in her little slow treat feeder, so a treat lasts longer and keeps her mentally stimulated. I will be ordering these mini treats again!!

Tasty and wholesome for picky eaters!
Great product from my Home state of Maine! My picky dogs love these treats, just the right amount of consistency not to hard which allows them to eat them as they do not have many teeth left, my 19- and 15-year-old pups love them and the 19-year-old is a very picky eater! Thank you for making a wholesome product that my dogs love and have the Low Protein, Low Phosphorus, Low Sodium they need at their ages. Smell is very mild and not overpowering. Thank you, Mattie's treats!

This treat is such a brilliant product! Thank you for bringing back joy to our doggie’s life. Luna is a 14+ years old Golden with late stage kidney disease and other health issues .She loves Mattie’s and we can happily spoil her with it without jeopardizing her health.

Too hard for my small dogs

Dog refuses to even try these. Spits out if sneak into mouth with food.
Sorry I hate to leave a 1 star review because of the story of these treats. However, my dog is not in the least interested in these treats and refuses to eat them. She is a treat beast and loves all treats more than anything but not these. I cannot get her to eat even if I break it up into pieces with other stuff. She eats around them. Have tried to hide in food and she licks food off and spits these out. They appear to be really bland, no smell and not enticing all. Very expensive too. The Hills Original she will eat with no issue. Really wanted these to work for small rewards but not happening.

Especially for kidney issues in dogs
Great treats for dogs with kidney issues-made especially for that with very low phosphorus and my dog loves them. We buy them constitantly-and love supporting small businesses !
