PennBattle III Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

great product, arrived in a tv type box that wasn't long enough so fishing pole was sticking out box and got damaged! Like some of the other reviews said! have to send back to replace. Come on amazon pack stuff right! Seems like I have to send stuff back constantly, not because of product but because of amazon

I like the price, size, lightness, and look of the rod/reel…but none of that matters when it has broken internal parts out of the box and is unusable. Loud clicking and barely turned. Broken teeth on the crosswind gear and a broken crosswind plate. Waited 3-4 weeks to get a broken reel. Either someone lied about a “very good” condition used reel or the QA needs to be seriously revamped. Would not buy used from Amazon unless these issues are addressed.

packed nicely and quick delivery ,,first time using today 1/12/24 so i put 12 power pro and went out to river to try , reel performed very well bell triggers over nice with not much force 12 pound power pro seem to be a good match , casts were in the 250 ft range using a 3/0 1.8 oz paddle tail bait , eyes seem sturdy and smooth not a lot of noise in eyes ,rod has just enough flex to handle a fairly size fish ,i caught a 15 LB snook and it did not hesitate to land it ,drag is smooth and reel worked smooth also like the blue and white color .,all performed well better than i expected it to , i am a avid fisherman with 1000s of logged hours and many years of fishing and have other reels way more costly ,but i can say i will buy again ,( hope this helps ,,

I bought the 6000 series with a 9' rod. Fished in Florida with it and is a fantastic rig. Like others say though the packaging is trash. Was just in a big cardboard box flopping around with reel attached, REALLY surprised is didn't get damaged. Wouldn't buy from here again just because of that. I really lucked out I think.

Any weight rod and reel for the Battle 3 is worth it. The reel is an upgrade from the Battle 2. Sealed for saltwater and freshwater. Penn equipment is well worth the price. I have old Penn reels still in use today. I have no doubt it will last just as long with minor maintenance. It was shipped in a box and well protected for damage during shipping.
