I wasn't able to find anything on if the vacuum worked without the app before buying it but it does! It seems to try to map the area on the first few uses. I was worried that it would wander outside when the dogs leave the door open but i read that some robot vacuums use a magnetic strip to stop them from going places and used that. It does seem to work because the vacuum hasn't wandered outside yet. It will let you know when the battery is low and it walks it's way back to it's dock. I have two dogs, one with a double coat and one that's always shedding and the vacuum is VERY good at picking up all the dog hairs. I run it like 2-3 times a day and it handles the dig hair very well as well as all the dirt and sand they track in. It holds a battery while it's off and away from the dock so it's ready to be used when we get back from a trip. I think it's favorite trick is going around corners and going around in circles because it seems to do a very very good job at cleaning corners and at going around in circles when the kids or dogs bump into it. The noise level is lower than expected which is always a bonus when you already have a chaotic environment. I took a star off of accuracy because when you don't use the app it doesn't cover the entire surface area and will sometimes go and get the same area multiple times... It does do a great job at getting into corners and around chair legs. The two brushes also do a great job of picking up everything in their way not just throwing the things off to the side. They pick up kibble, fur, dirt, mud, snacks, and other small items surprisingly well. It also adjusts to carpet and rugs well while on those surfaces then goes back to normal on non- soft floors. Tldr; works great without the app and will keep up with my household well. It will also keep a charge while not in use and off.

Like nearly everyone, I was skeptical to pay for a robot vac. I am thankful I did. This Eureka does a great job. It picks up so much dust etc. each time it vacuums. We have a cat and a dog. I purchased this one specifically for the multiple mapping feature. We have a split level home. Great vacuum. I only removed 1 start because the app does need some user interface improvements. It’s manageable but improvements to the app would gain another star on my review. I don’t miss vacuuming and she is fun to watch in action.

I have 4 corgis that shed like crazy, I was feeling overwhelmed with the accumulation of dog hair by the end of the day and always having to get out my big clunky vacuum to take care of it all. This however, is not my first robot vacuum, it’s actually my third! My first vacuum was the ILIFE V3s but, it didn’t have app control, my second was the AIRROBO and that had app control but got stuck and had a thick stiff bristle roller brush so dog hair was always getting stuck and the vacuum got stuck on everything. Feeling like I couldn’t find a robot vacuum I was happy with, I tried this one. I have no problems with it connecting to the WiFi and it maps my rooms out so I can select what rooms I specifically want cleaned. It always returns to the charger and the roller brush has soft bristles making it a lot easier to clean dog hair. By far the easiest vacuum to clean dog hair from with a roller brush. I will say though, it gets stuck under my couch. It will fit under my couch but will not come out. Also good to note that I have hardwood floors so I can’t speak for how it does on carpet.

It seamed ok at first. Noisy and a little finiky. But after a couple days the brush roller motor began making a lot more noise. It had no functionality to clean a small area like other vacuums do. It just spins one time then says cleaning complete without cleaning anything. It gets hung up with its front off the edge of the top step all the time. The battery only lasts a short time now. And it went go back to the charger most times, it just stops in front of it and starts voicing place on charger.

Worked okay for 4 months then just stopped working…
