Prime Video is the BEST!!
I got this movie on Prime Video after being extremely disappointed by a faulty DVD of it I'd ordered on Amazon. What an amazing movie! I love the completely immersive world Cameron created. I hate all the violence against the Na'avi people but I love their harmonious way of life and how they are at one with their planet. Loved seeing Na'avi children! Although some of Jake and Neytiri's children have American accents and others don't, which is a little strange. Jake is rearing his kids like a sergeant with a troop, which Neytiri disagrees with. But his strongly protective father instinct is endearing.Similar storyline to Avatar 1 - bad guys try to kill Jake and plunder Pandora's precious resources - but this time set on the other side of the planet where the Metkayina sea tribes live on the reef among the roots of giant mangroves. The evolution of the sea people is fascinating, with their wider limbs and tails and enlarged ribcages and breath control. Love the look of them, with Maori- inspired markings and big blue eyes. The only things I was disappointed by were the death of Jake's oldest son (who will be leader after him now???) and the rescue of a drowned Quaritch at the end. Bummer! Now he's gonna try and kill Jake all over again in Avatar 3!

Incredible sequel
Director James Cameron has a reputation for attention to detail and perfection in his movies. This sequel certainly has all of this. This film is incredible. Particularly outstanding for me is the amazing water effects. Much of the movie was themed on water (hence the name) and I couldn't tell what was computer generated or the real thing. It was so impressive to watch. Cameron waited until the technology was available to him to create such realism (one reason for the film's delay) and it certainly delivers. Not everyone liked the run time of over 3 hours but I enjoyed all of it, no problem for me. The story could have been shorter but with such impressive visuals it was a feast for the eyes. If you liked the original and are an Avatar fan then you won't be disappointed. It's the usual good against bad and reaches a climax featuring a major battle, nothing unusual there, but it does feature different tribes and some wonderful marine creatures. The 3rd installment is due at the end of next year so expect more of the same thing and there's nothing wrong about that.

Great animation/effects but …
After the ground-breaking Avatar, the animated sequences were still new and terrific but for me the storyline was pretty weak and I just got rather bored.
