Padlocks a bit rubbish and awkward, but the contraption itself is exellent and well made.

Though not an infallible design or construction when compared to some similar units this is the "best of the bunch"? It's fairly universal so should fit on most trailer 50mm ball couplings, it's a bit heavier than some and it's easy to install and remove. Some reviewers say they change the padlock to a genuine Abus but the clone supplied is well made and it would take less effort with an angle grinder to cut apart the box than separate the two halves of the pad-lock! Two other features are worthwhile, it's bright yellow so a deterrent but the biggest plus is that it can be fitted over the trailer hitch WHEN CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE! Great security for when you've just parked up . . . just remember it WILL NOT permit the hitch to rotate so NEVER use it on the road. Excellent value for money and a vital security for your caravan or trailer!

Lets face it, nothing is going to stop a determined tealeaf with an angle grinder. But this piece of kit is a great design and as secure as any I would say, and for a very reasonable price. It appears to have a nice heavy coat of paint which should withstand the elements and keep it looking tidy. I like that it will fit even when the trailer is attached to the car. As an added bonus on my trailer, I find that when not in use it will clamp snugly to the A-frame drawbar. Only weakness I can see is the disc style lock. with its pressed steel housing a few good smacks with a heavy hammer could possibly separate it, I may spend a bit more and swap this one out for a better quality padlock. All in all well worth the money though and I'm very pleased with it.

good medium security lock, good price but not general purpose for all hitches, check carefully the dimensions

I was looking for a hitch lock that would secure my trailer to the car whilst stationery. All the other hitch locks I could find (without paying a fortune) didn't allow you to attach it while it was hooked up to the car. This lock does exactly that. Can be used stabd-alone or hooked up. Very easy to fit, high visibility to deter thieves. Strong lock supplied but you can easily swap out for an alternative. Highly recommended.

Ordered this item for my trailer to replace the current maypole lock, when I opened the package it looked as though this item has been previously used (see photos), not impressed with this. There is paint missing and rub marks.

I was looking for something like this for a while. It arrived on time and well packaged with no sign of any damage. I wanted to have the confidence to leave my builders trailer hitched to the van overnight outside my house. The bright yellow paint is an immediate identifier to would be thieves. Its well build and relatively robust. The lock is one of those round ones that cant be easily cut using a bolt cutter. I imagine it is possible to use an angle grinder to cut this open but it would take a minute of two...... that would wake definitely wake everybody so Im not overly concerned. It can be fitted to the trailer while unhitched or hitched which is better than those ball plugs which can only be used while the trailer is unhitched. I sleep better knowing this is on the trailer.

Cumple su función, buen material y fácil de poner. En mi caso está en el remolque en la calle, ha perdido algo de color por el sol, pero no tiene ninguna parte de óxido. El candado con un poco de grasa va como el primer día. 100% recomendable.
