Hydrating Face Primer

First impressions: Compared to other primers I have tried (from Loreal and Revlon to name a few) I was surprised at how silky this primer felt. It took a little getting used to at first, but it was actually very pleasant. Application and quality: As for how it worked as a base, I am very pleased with it. It made the application of my foundation super smooth and did a good job blurring my pores. I am prone to oil on certain parts of my face, and was a bit worried that the hydrating aspect of the primer and the silkiness might contribute to an oily appearance, but with my use of it so far, I've not had any such troubles. It leaves my skin nice and matt, but feeling hydrated. It's incredibly lightweight, so it's fantastic if you don't like the feeling of having a lot on your skin. Value for money: I would say it's worth it. The price seems standard for primer, the quality is great, and a little primer goes a long way so it should last a while.

This review is of the hydrating face primer. I love this stuff, it feels wonderful on my skin and glides over it allowing very easy foundation application. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I would say it’s more suitable to dry skin as the name suggests, it’s hydrating. Will buy again!

It helped to control shine and kept my makeup looking fresh for a longer duration. However, I did find that it emphasized any texture on my skin, such as acne scars or bumps. While I had mixed feelings about this primer, my niece, who has different skin concerns, absolutely loves it. She has dry skin and found that this primer provided the perfect amount of hydration for her. It also helped to prolong the wear of her makeup and created a smooth base for foundation. In conclusion, the elf Hydrating Face Primer is a lightweight and hydrating option that provides a natural matte finish. While it didn't completely meet my personal expectations in terms of pore-filling and line-smoothing abilities, it has proven to be a great fit for my niece's dry skin. If you have similar skin concerns, this primer may be worth a try.

I’ve seen so many people rave about this primer online, but for some reason, it just doesn’t work for me. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but something about the texture feels off—it’s both slimy and dry at the same time, which is a strange combination. It’s frustrating because I really wanted to like it, but I just can’t get past how it feels on my skin. That said, if this product works for you, that’s great! I’m not discrediting those who love it—everyone’s skin is different. However, if you’re someone who hasn’t tried this primer yet and you’re on the hunt for a new one, I’d suggest looking at other options. It’s clearly a good primer for some people, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

This primer goes on so smoothly, and you only need to use a little amount.

Love this primer, it leaves your skin feeling soft and works as a brilliant base to apply foundation on top of. It doesn't dry super sticky but instead leaves your skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth. Only gave 4 stars as if you don't apply a powder or setting spray over your foundation, it does come off easily due to the primer being so smooth.

I overpaid for Strivectin primer, $39 and it made my fine lines look like a road map! I had heard a lot of women rave about Elf primer and figured I didn’t have anything to lose buying it, it’s incredibly reasonable. It’s my holy grail in my makeup bag. I can put this on and feel comfortable just with a fresh face. Make up goes on perfectly and stays put. I’ve also tried the pink primer Elf makes and wouldn’t hesitate if I were out of this. I just have very dry skin and prefer the way my skin feels with this one. Please don’t ever discontinue this primer.
