Hypafix Dressing Retention Tape 4" x 10 Yards, 1 Roll

I use this to hold the larger 75mcg Fentanyl patches in place. I had spent months trying other "tapes" and my skin is sensitive and dry and I often got blisters and tape burn. Also with the "regular" type of tapes I can only tape around the outside edge and the center of the patch would not adhere or lay flat. After a lot a research it was either Hypafix Tape or Tagaderm Patches. When I kept reading that the people that used the Hypafix (and many if not most were previous Tagaderm users) kept raving about the comfort and overall better feeling with no "tape burns" etc. Not to mention the cost. I read that most people buy one box of Hypafix and it lasts for almost a year! At this point I was going to try it. All I can say so far is it's so comfortable I can't tell I am wearing it. It is very soft like a cloth and perforated and breaths really well. It is very flexible yet stays in place and so far not one corner has peeled up. I am very impressed so far. I will update my review after I have given this sometime to see if I can find any drawbacks. I would be ecstatic if this works and I stop wasting my money on those ridiculously expensive Fentanyl patches. Well its been a couple weeks and I couldn't be happier. This tape is just amazing. Not only can I not tell I am not wearing it but it stays on even when wet, sleeping and just daily use. What is so amazing about how this tape wears is that in my case I cut a section and put it over my patch (I did learn you need to get it on the right spot the first time, it not very forgiving on being pulled off and reapplied.) But the corners do not lift and start to roll up. Since I wear this 24-7 for 2-3 days at a time it's great to not have the corners start to lift or roll up. With other tapes this was a major problem and while sleeping the old tapes would often roll up on the corners or my shirt rubbing would start it lifting away. I have no idea how this holds but its sticks like no other and I can use less since I don't have to compensate for the edges lifting. The final part: removal, well lets just say I was shocked that it does not leave any residue or only a very small amount that washes off. I have no idea what they use for an adhesive but I can't separate my patch from the tape, not that it matters just rather interesting. And lastly the adhesive doesn't irritate my skin at all. The other tapes would often leave blisters or red welts where the tape was and that was using some spendy 3M tape that could only be applied to the edges of the patch and not completely over it like this can be. 5 Stars, now I am going to stock up on this just in case it not available in the future.

This tape is magic ! I was introduced to it by my dermatologist, and it is the easiest product to use and does a fantastic job of keeping wound pads in place. You can adjust how much tape you need as it is flexible to cut and wrap around limbs as necessary. It does not leave any sticky residue. Highly recommended.

Love this tape. I was visiting my doctor and the nurse saw a wound on my hand( with my excuse of a bandage , lol) and replaced it with a pad and this tape. Wow what a difference, very comfortable, easy to remove( it is not perfect, there can be a small ouch on occasion). Stays put, even when wet and or abused. Easy to cut to fit your bandage need.

Easy to use! Sticks well and easy to remove

Had some surgery and a skin graft that has been slowly healing over the last 3 months. A folded 4"x 4" gauze pad covers the quarter-size wound and the hypafix tops it off smoothly and keeps it all together. I learned to be generous with the patch so it stays on as long as I need it. Hypafix will keep it covered even in the shower and comes off easily afterward - it doesn't hurt at all coming off. (Hypafix is NOT waterproof. I wear it in the shower to protect the wound.) I'm glad I bought the 10 yard roll. I've probably used half of it in 3 months and the ordeal isn't over yet. It's a great thing to have in your medicine cabinet along with gauze pads for when a bandaid just isn't big enough. I'm married to Mr. Fixit who frequently needs a patch himself when he's done patching something around the house.

The tape works very well and is skin friendly but I don't know why the price has almost doubled since I bought it a few months ago , will not be buying again

Hypafix makes a 2" tape that is perfect for the protection of a smaller dressed wound. However, the 4" Hapafix tape makes it much easier to protect and stabilize a larger dressed wound. Larger dressings can be wrapped with a single protective sheath rather than having to overlap smaller sections of tape. The adhesive is very strong and the tape very flexible, making it much less likely that fluids from the would will leak through the dressings.

I am type 1 diabetic and sweat a lot during the summer months, especially when working out. I find that the adhesive that comes with continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps insertion kits is not strong enough to stand up to sweat. I cannot afford, either financially (these supplies are expensive!!) or from a health perspective, for supplies to disconnect and need to be replaced. Enter Hypafix. A little of this dressing goes a long way - I simply place a strip or two over my CGM and pump insertion point and it greatly helps in keeping my devices adhered to my body. I've tried many brands and this is the only one that gave the adhesion needed without causing rashes or skin irritation. I pre-cut strips of this before going on trips to make sure that I always have some available.

The tape is very fit for purpose. Sticks well for all types of wound dressings.
