FANTASTIC Indoor Smoker - 4 months of use without any issues ....
EXCELLENT ... EXCELLENT ... EXCELLENT ... cooks perfectly / smokes incredibly well ... especially for indoor use ... was SUPER hesitant to try this inside our small apartment - but - it's not that bad. There & will be "some" residual smoke smell in any normal indoor space - "if" we had a separate area with a fan - like in a normal house - you could use it in a attached garage - or - laundry room etc ... or use it in a covered outdoor patio & you don't want/need a full size smoker then this little guy is your Perfect answer. Not huge inside the cooking space - so - you need to plan accordingly & I was also hesitant about not getting the same cooking results between the three layers - but - this little guy's internal heat circulation & smoke circulation was really well engineered & I've yet to find a fail between the three cooking levels. It's cook & smoke just as well with one tray as it will with all three loaded down. In my first go - I cooked & smoked 10lbs of Brisket divided between the three layers & didn't fuse by shuffling the various tray's during the cooking cycle. 8 hours came & went & the Brisket turned out perfectly. Tasted like it was cooked in a professional grade smoker & being served out @ a $100 a plate - our guests loved ... loved ... LOVED it. Next I did a whole chicken - same deal - cooked perfectly. Chicken breasts next - came out perfectly. The soft app which you can get download & installed on my iPhone 16 without issues - there have been various posts about the app having issues with iPhone 12's & lower versions of iOS - my 16 originally was iOS 18.x - installed without issue & then when I upgraded to iOS26 - the app upgraded without issue. Some folks complain it's a pay app - it's NOT - you can Choose to buy a subscription - which gives you access to generic smoke recipes - the same recipes you can find on the web for free - so - ya - the Subscription is NOT worth it ... the App works just fine for the basics of monitoring your cooking - the smoking process etc ... in the 4 months we've had this little counter smoker - it's NOT that little when it's sitting on the counter - about the size of a half sized mini fridge - but weighs more ... I use the term "little" when comparing it to other patio sized smokes - or - "other" outdoor sized smokers. The BIGGEST advantage this little smoker has over other products on the market ? - it TRULY is an indoor smoker :) ... & it works VERY well ...

I think they nailed it.
You're buying an indoor smoker? This is the only one you can get on amazon right now, and it is priced accordingly. I see a few of these reviews saying the included recipes are not great or overcooked their food and don't mention the marvel of smoking indoors. If you've never smoked or cooked anything before you might find those same results. Do some research and make adjustments to the recipes as needed. Lower and slower is a safe bet almost always. The hot air expelled by the smoker smells like you're smoking meat, it smells like smoke and meat. If this is a problem for you it is because you don't like smoked food, what are you even doing sitting there reading this? There is no visible smoke coming out unless you open the door without clearing the smoke, which can sometimes be janky when clearing smoke near the end of the cook cycle (takes 10 WHOLE minutes) if the cycle ends before the smoke clears you have no way of knowing if the smoke is actually cleared or not, but I think it's fine because my alarms never went off. Cleaning took a bit of elbow grease to get it like new, foil in the bottom tray helps, but it's not absolutely necessary to get every rack like new after each use, dishwasher works wonders on those, I like cleaning the glass every time to be able to see in with some degree of certainty, use a flashlight because if the top rack is full it is hard to see into the bottom, but your phone light works fine too so it's a weird complaint. Yes it uses a lot of power, it's an electric oven, the pellets are for smoke only, not heat. I had it on the same circuit as a small chest freezer in my apartment and when the freezer kicked in it tripped my GFCI, run it on a mostly empty circuit for long smokes to be sure it doesn't get tripped. I won a 500 dollar gift card from my employer and it went on sale the same week as if it was meant to be, I've done several batches of wings with the included recipe thar were flawless for the flavor, cook time, and cook temp (minus like 5 degrees but still damn close to perfect there). Ribs recipe was overcooked but still edible, but the second batch of racks I did lower and slower turned out perfect. Going to be doing a bigger roast this weekend using a recipe straight from the internet recommended from a colleague that I'm sure will be great, will update if not. This is an amazing tool for anyone looking to get into meat smoking from an apartment. Even considering there are zero alternatives for this product they made something special here and I would be shocked if China could make something better for less. Maybe if the market stays strong other companies will compete for the space, that would help everyone with that kind of competition and I think this unit will fare pretty well until major improvements of design or major cost savings for same quality happen. If you want to smoke indoors the price is only based on what you are comfortable spending, if you can or already do smoke outdoors you should keep clutching your pearls and act like your above such a product. I will be buying a house this year and will continue to use this product until I need to cook for more than just me and the wife because it is only really able to cook for two people (maybe 4 if you eat as little as she does). Looking forward to smoking some veggies after the roast!

Easy to use, precise, Indoor smoker
First I have to give a plug to Dan O's Seasonings which is where I first saw this product in action. We started experimenting the day we got it by smoking a rack of baby back ribs, some chicken wings and some pork belly. The next day we smoked vegetables & more wings. Everything turned out great. This thing is truly set and forget. It has numerous settings to get you going if your new to smoking food but you can easily adjust temp for more experienced smokers. This thing does not disappoint. GE did a phenomenal job with this product. Its easy to use, precise, has adjustable smoke levels with a no smoke option. Only caveat, which is minor, is the interior space. There are only 3 racks and there is maybe 3" between and they are fixed. If your using it to to feed a family of 4 then is not an issue plenty of room, more than that, you might have to smoke in stages. All in all... 5 stars as far as I am concerned! Great job GE and thank you to Dan O's for making the video highlighting this product.

Underwhelming with Potential Health Risks
4/28/2025 GE Profile Indoor Smoker — Product Review As an enthusiastic home cook, I was excited to try the GE Profile Indoor Smoker, particularly given GE’s strong reputation for kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, my experience with this product was deeply disappointing and raised several concerns. Performance Issues: • Smoke Leakage: Despite claims of “zero smoke” emissions and minimal odor due to an integrated catalytic converter, the unit produced significant smoke during operation. I noticed a strong smoky smell on my clothes after leaving the house, and my partner was even woken up by difficulty breathing due to the smoke. Minor leakage was visible around the door, suggesting a weak seal, but the primary sources of smoke were the back of the unit (near the catalytic converter) and the auger area (where pellets are fed). If the smoker cannot effectively contain and filter smoke and carbon emissions, it may pose a serious health risk, particularly during extended, unattended use. • Auger and Pellet System Malfunction: At the end of my cook, I observed that no pellets had been deposited into the waste bin. Although I followed the priming process outlined in the manual, the pellets turned to mush inside the auger channel, resulting in a complete clog. The “empty pellets” function failed, and manual cleaning proved impossible. Additionally, brown liquid leaked from the reservoir during cooking, adding to the mess and further diminishing the experience. • Unexpected Shutdown: During the initial two-hour cooking cycle, the smoker shut off unexpectedly at 1 hour and 48 minutes. I had not inserted a probe or set a target temperature that would have prompted an automatic shutdown. This premature stop undermines confidence in the smoker’s reliability for unattended cooking. Conclusion: While the GE Profile Indoor Smoker is an exciting concept, its real-world performance falls far short of expectations. Smoke leakage, auger malfunction, liquid leakage, and unexpected power failures make this appliance difficult to recommend — particularly given the potential safety concerns. I hope GE addresses these issues in future iterations, but at present, this product does not meet the standards associated with the brand and price tag. Considering this product is so highly rated for apartment residents, it is concerning how so many of its defects pose such serious issues. Hopefully this was just a faulty unit. Amazon has kindly sent a replacement, and I am hopeful the new smoker will work as advertised.

Good, but too techy
Good oven - it works on 120v. I use it in my garage to avoid smoke fumes, but they are very mild and somehow it clears well before finishing?! The bad news is the smoke flavor us very mild. It does not smoke like an outdoor pit smoker. But, it does add flavor and the automated functions are reliable. It requires custom proprietary wood pellets. You can’t use anything else. The default pellets are not very distinctive, but others are available. The menu system and control knob is not user friendly. The knob has several functions and it takes a whike to figure out how it works. The temp probe works great, but it is hard to plug in when the oven is pre heated- there is a mtal cover that gets hot to the touch. Use a fork or tongs to open it. The manual and web site were not very helpful, but there is a phone spp which was useful for tracking progress. This is an indoor smoker oven, but you won’t get Texas style pit BBQ ( strong smoke flavoring) results. It can handle a full sized chicken or turkey breast, but not a beef brisket. I think it has about a 5 lb limit. FYI: I have used a disposable foil smoker bag in my regular house oven for similar redults.

Hands down. My most favorite appliance I've ever had.
Hands down the best appliance I've ever had, and I just had a complete remodel of my kitchen with all new appliances, and this is still the best. I love smoking ribs, wings, & fish. I also love smoking corn 🌽 asparagus, brussel sprouts and even bread! Plus, I love the way that it works with your phone and it has controlled lighting too. It's so easy to use. There's no smoke smell. You typically will have a slight wood potpourri, smell. The smell of fresh cut wood, not the smell of smoke. That's if? ... you smell anything. I truely wish that I had this appliance back when I was in an apartment. Because I couldn't grill or smoke at the time unless I was to drag my grill outside my apartment. Do everything all the B.S... then I have all the cleanup later inside and outside. With this its so .... much easier, it's pretty much set it and forget it. Monitor it with your phone if you want to. It even has a time reminder you can setup with your phone. The app is very basic, a child could set it up for you. G. E. couldn't have made this easier and better unless maybe they attached a camera to it. There's nothing like throwing ribs or chicken in the unit. Setting it for 2-4 hours Only coming back. When the phone tells you, it's done. * Then press smoke out. And you are set to eat the best food ever! There's even some great smoking vegetable recipes that you can use with this unit too. Like smoked asparagus, corn or Brussel sprouts. If you wanna get the best use out of the unit, you have to think of it as a smart air fryer with smoke. You can watch it just swirl the smoke around your food. Infusing the best smoke favor. Things that it could have had. 1.) I think it could have come with a brush. To clean out the under waterbin area cause sometimes, when you pull out the water bin, you have some remnants of wood that falls into that area, this will cause an error that the bin is open. It would be nice to have like little paint brush style brush sweep that out. 2.) It would be nice to have a wood scoop too. 3.) A small pan with holes for air frying and cooking in general * Kona. does sell net like screens for it, but it's not a pan. Everything on this appliance works to A. T... it's just a matter of getting it at the right price. *** For all the reviews, that says it smells like smoke. They obviously did not read the instructions. * You must push, " Clear smoke " before opening the unit! * Also time to time it doesn't have smoke. If that is the case, you have to push the clear smoke button. It seems to eject all the wood pellets, or lack of pellets. Push. Resume smoke and then it will start on a new batch of pellets. If that doesn't work. Clean the interior smoke outlet on right and then "toggle" the unit by pushing toggle. This cleans the wood auger that pushes the wood to the flame. After that it smokes like it was new again.

Great indoor smoker
The indoor smoker was worth the purchase, we have smoked several things in it like a prime rib, pork chops and Mac and cheese and the smoke flavor is just as good as an outdoor smoker. It is very easy to use and it’s nice to use indoors when it’s cold out. 100% worth the purchase.
