Can I use this to cement paving bricks together to make a BBQ, or is there a cheaper solution?

Yup, depends on the job, for a larger job I would consider a bag of ready mixed mortar 25kg british gypsum brown one. This gets thinner compared to the regular mortar, it's more for fine repairs rather than laying down bricks

Is ok to use for a washing pole spike?

I did in the past use it for a flag pole. Suffice to say that pole is going nowhere. This purchase is for some fence posts with a metal spike when I can get around to it.

What cement/sand ratio is this

It says 20-25% cement to 80-75% sand.

Can you brush this in missing morter on a patio as a dry mix, and let the moisture in the ground set it hard.

I did just that but used a cheap tigger spray to set the surface. It is far from the cheapest way of doing this but I only needed to fill two joints.
