How thick is this paint and would it be suitable to use to cover nails on a tin roof?

It is reasonably thick - for paint. It doesn't have much gap filling quality. But if blobbed on I guess it would be suitable - it adheres to metal and other surfaces.

Would i beable to use this in a spray gun?

I can confirm, yes, you can spray this, and it goes on beautifully once you get it properly thinned and dialed in pressure-wise on the gun. In the end, we went with a ratio of 2.5l of paint to 800ml of Hammerite Thinner (very important: only use Hammerite Thinner). You can buy it in 2.5l as well if you need to spray 7.5l and still have a bit to clean up with. I have also tried this with the Hammered, rather than Smooth finish version with success at the same ratio.

Should i use on new iron railings that already has primer and is not galvanised?

No problem. I have just painted new undercoated railing with Smooth Black Hammerite, gives good finish.
