My husband has been making a lot of soups and food as he has taken on the cooking for a while as I recover from a situation that has left me unable to help for now. I got him this to help him with his mission.HOW THIS COMESThis comes in a box with all that you need inside. There is a small leaflet of instructions.EASE OF USEMy husband got this for his birthday gift and took off to go use it in the kitchen. I could hear him screaming from all over the house. He carried on with all sorts of words I can not repeat here. Finally I could hear him quietly cooking again.When it came time to eat, he walked up to me and showed me his finger. He had tried to use the item and something was not seated properly and he smashed his finger so hard that it left a mark for a couple of days. Pretty big one.You would think he would hate this, but he reset it and used it. He told me he likes it and it would be good for making soup or other projects that require a lot of chopping.CLEANINGHe seems to think it is fairly easy to clean and is happy with it.THE BOTTOM LINEOnce my husband got over his initial screaming fit, he found that he likes this for jobs in the kitchen that require a lot of chopping.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. He said that he is not sure how he smashed his finger tip, but he does like this and said once he got it set up properly, it worked easily and was not hard to press down. Who knows? My advice is when you first get it. Check and be sure everything is in place before you use it the first time. LOL.

Don't Crack on Me!The base which collects the diced food is made of very thin plastic...I can project it will crack soon and I will need another base or bottom for the diced food to fall into......If it had been made of glass, it would be superb!It is made of thin plastic....Where will I find another separate base without purchasing another entirely new dicer?The remainder parts are quite sturdy. The locking mechanism for the blades is a plus!
