Tried some saltwater pearls before, and I didn't like the limited range of colors. These freshwater ones offered exactly what I wanted, plus they are much bigger than the saltwater pearls. Thank you for the extra gift as well, I loved it! It did get damaged in shipping, and isn't able to be used as a cage itself, but it's cute enough to keep anyway.

Fun to open, but they were definitely dyed. Very uneven coloring and the meat of the oyster was dyed the same color as the pearl. These are definitely not naturally colored pearls. Also, very small pearls. Some look like plastic beads. For $50 I expected better!

What you should know is that wish pearls are real cultured pearls, but they are low quality dyed pearls created from dull pearls with irregular shapes of little to no value. These colors do not occur in nature. The dyed pearls are then inserted into preserved oysters. Generally the oysters are preserved in formaldehyde or something similar to prevent them from decaying. Not saying not to buy if you are just want to have fun with all the bright colors, but you should be aware of what you are purchasing.
