Davey BT30-30T2-USA 50 psi Pressure Booster Pump with Torrium II Controller

This is my second pump, the first lasted 8 years which I have no complaints. Easy install and does the job!

Quit working in three days. Constant reset required.

I bought this pump to replace an aging Davey FS18-40. I have 30 psi municipal supply and the pump boosts the pressure to 80 psi deadhead. have a regulator on the discharge side but not on the suction. I was overpressuring the FS but the 30-30 is able to handle the relatively high inlet pressure. The pump is quiet which the aging pump was not. I had replaced the seals twice in the 15 years and this new guy Will actually require less maintenance since has fewer stages and suited for the inlet. We have a 6 bedroom house and with the 30-30s flat curve one can push a lot of water at a good pressure. It is particularly good if you have a high water use for irrigation as well as your house. I actually spent very little time choosing it and then kicked. Myself for not ordering one of the higher pressure pumps. Dave at primo, cleared me up that the pump was best for my high inlet pressure and it was a direct fit for my FS. In fact it took me 20 minutes tops to remove old pumpand install because no piping changesvwere required and the 220 plug was just like FS. I simply cut a 5/4 decking board to make up the 1 incch lower elevating of the 30-30 versus the FS. Oh, and the 1 1/4 inlet was just like my FS. If you’re installing it from scratch, I recommend SharkBite fittings. My plumber used these on my initial install and no solder no leaks. Make it easy on yourself. Be sure to provide a bypass with valve so you can still run if you need it sometime. Davey makes very good pumps and this is a top product. Very satisfied. I don’t give five star ratings for stuff unless it is a steal.
