Description

The QPKING OBD2 Breakout Box is a pass-through OBDII protocol detector and test interface for accessing the 16 circuits at a vehicle data link connector. It helps technicians determine whether a communication problem is caused by missing power, weak ground, abnormal network activity or connector wiring before replacing parts or blaming the scan tool. Connect it between a compatible OBD2 vehicle and diagnostic equipment. The labeled 4 mm test ports allow a multimeter or oscilloscope to measure voltage and signals on selected pins while a compatible scan tool remains connected. Depending on vehicle design, circuits may include CAN High, CAN Low, K-Line, L-Line, J1850, chassis ground, signal ground and battery power. Designed for DC 8-30V systems, it can be used with common 12V passenger vehicles and many 24V commercial vehicle applications when the vehicle uses a standard 16-pin diagnostic connector. The 45 cm extension cable helps position the box where readings are easier to see and test leads are easier to connect. Important: This breakout box does not independently read or clear diagnostic trouble codes, display live data or perform bidirectional functions. A compatible scan tool, multimeter, oscilloscope or other suitable test equipment is required. OBD2 connector shape alone does not guarantee that every pin or protocol is active.
