Celox is a wonderful way to control bleeding whether it’s a combat injury, a gunshot wound, or an obstetrical laceration that just wants to bleed. I keep some in my car as well as the Celox gauze in case I encounter some one with an injury. Apply it, add gauze, and put pressure for a few minutes. It’s totally absorbable so doesn’t need to be flushed off if sutures are needed. It’s made from crustacean shells with no manmade chemicals. We use it in our OB practice as well.

This is one of those things that you hope you never have to use, but if you need it, it can save a life.

Celox really doesn't have a good delivery system for frequent nosebleeds but it does a good job of stopping them. The nose patches are too expensive and the "syringe "I use was intended for single use on a trauma wound with arterial bleeding. But I use it multiple times for nosebleeds which I have often. My ENT doc says he would be afraid of burning through my septum in trying to cauterize all the bleeding area. But celox stops the bleeding quickly. A little rubber stopper on the plunger of the applicator would help a lot.

Good idea, haven't had a opportunity to test it.
