Great Product. Tastes Fresh. For Soups, Stews, and Chilis
Freeze dried celery. If you like to add celery to your food but the fresh always goes bad, this is perfect for you. Once it is opened, put the leftovers in a ziplock bag with the oxygen absorber to stay fresh for months. I like not having to cut and chop. Great for soups and chilis.

Good value
Great flavor, good quality, takes some time to rehydrate, but adds color and flavor to recipes, nice to have on hand when youโre outta fresh celery

Good product and handy to have on hand
I like having products on hand when I need them instead of having to make a trip to the store. These are perfect for that.

Celery flavor strong
It arrived today just in time for stew making. I soaked 2T in warm water. Pretty chewy, even crunchy. So added more water and set on back burner to simmer. It soaked up all the water and developed a sweet smell and softer consistency but still a bit scratchy chewy. Gave it a toss into the stew and it added good flavor disappearing into the tomatoes and veggies favorably. I can't see using it in chicken salad but good for cooking. Glad to get it with celery going sky high in price. I like how one reviewer mentioned she grinds it to a powder. I will try that next. I imagine it gets rid of that unusual texture completely without the long soak/ cook.

pantry staple emergency or not
Some Augason Farms stuff I buy as emergency food, some I buy for regular use. If I can price out something in this form that is same price or less than other forms, then I go with this as it can be stored away or kept in my working pantry. I use a lot of Augason Farms, and I've been pleased with this. Dehydrated celery is a great addition to the pantry. Sometimes I dont have fresh, or I have fresh that went bad, or I dont find it in the store, or what is there looks bad, or price is way outside my budget. Having some dried celery tucked away in my pantry really helps stretch the budget and brings value to my time. I keep the recipe trifecta on hand, "mire poix": celery, carrot, and onion. I keep fresh, frozen, and dried on hand. Usually used in recipes that will help rehydrate these foods no problem. Celery is very easy to rehydrate. I usually just add to the cooking process and its good to go. Food scarcity is legit, so if you can stock up when items are on sale, then I recommend to do so. Consider it insurance. FYI: food and such are sold based on weight, not volume. There is 1lb, 2 oz packed in this #10 can (that reads, "number ten" not "ten pound"- it is a size of can). Using a #10 can means that it provides uniformity among storage. Emergency supplies are packed for long term and are packed to stack. They also float. They can be repurposed. Even if one gets a dent, contents are still good (unless and actual hole, which is not likely to happen). The food will not be filled to the brim, and also.. food settles after packing.
