Lightweight, Strong, and Perfect for My S5 II Rig
I’ve been using the SmallRig Lightweight NATO Top Handle (4345) with my Panasonic S5 II and SmallRig cage, and it has been a great addition to my setup. It makes handheld shooting much easier, especially for low-angle shots and when moving around during church productions. The quick-release NATO system is one of my favorite features — I can slide it on and off quickly without tools, which makes switching setups fast and convenient. The handle is very lightweight but still strong, easily supporting my fully rigged camera without any flex or issues. The grip is comfortable and secure, thanks to the silicone design, so I can hold the camera for long periods without fatigue. I also like the multiple mounting options — the built-in cold shoes and threaded holes make it easy to attach a microphone, monitor, or light directly to the handle. Build quality is solid, and it feels like it’s built to last. Even with regular use, everything stays tight and secure, and the handle still looks and performs like new. Overall, this is a simple, reliable, and very practical upgrade for any cage setup. Light weight but strong handle
The handle was an original SmallRig. These are excellent quality. I do not find the NATO grip as smooth to put on and takeoff as Arca-Swiss but it is smaller. The handle can be mounted forward or backward but only one end has an ARRI mounting point. So if you want to use that for a monitor the handle must point towards the person.
