It has two operating modes: self-leveling and manual. Using the self-leveling mode, the laser level automatically levels itself over a range of +- 3 degrees of tilt. Outside of this parameter, the laser will continuously flash until it is leveled within the tolerance range. The manual mode allow the laser to be locked to be used on any desired inclined, such a needed in installing steps or stair railings.The Fanttik D12 PLUS green laser level kit comes with 5200mAh battery that is charged using the included Type-C charging cord, all stored in a compact, semi-hard case with a good foam insert to protect the equipment. The unit comes with an instruction booklet, a good magnet bracket and a portable target to use for longer distances. This Fanttik laser level projects a bright green Class 2 laser visible at approximately 100-ft away at night and up to 200 feet in the pulse mode using a receiver. The website states that this laser level is accurate to within 1/8 inch over 30 feet, which is sufficient for many DIY projects. This laser level is not for higher-end professional use but will be a useful time-saving tool for the general DIY, saving time and money on many projects.The website description states that this laser level can withstand accidental drops that will no longer be a concern. I am reluctant to drop this laser level to test this, or any laser level for that matter, due to the nature of how laser levels work. The website doesn’t state the height that this The Fanttik D12 PLUS is designed to withstand. I hope I never find out its limits. As always, I am careful as to how I use and store tools of this nature. I do recommend this laser level for the DIYer.

I'm not sure if i just received a laser leveler that was faulty or was damaged in transit but the lasers it emits are not level.

There are a lot of different laser levels that have 1 or 2 of the most desirable features. Not many have them all. This one has pretty much everything I want in a laser level. Let's take a look at the features.Overall build = very good. I've seen a lot of these that are very sub-standard and cheaply made. This has quality equal to the best equipment on the market.Three laser / 12 beam output for x/y/z axis laser leveling.Full manual mode. Many laser levels use the "lock" switch as the power switch, meaning there is no manual mode. The "lock" and "power button" are separate, and so you can put this on a tripod (or however you want to mount it) and put a line any way you like it. Trust me when I tell you, that you want a full manual mode. This is an essential feature not all have.Pulse-mode. Once again, not all lasers are pulse-mode capable. If you want to use a laser detector, you need pulse mode. I have a laser detector, and it worked perfectly with pulse mode on this.The case is even a high point here. I've used a lot of different laser levels. This is probably the best case I've ever gotten with a laser level, and I love that the pro-level quality continues to every facet of this kit, even to the case, which is normally an afterthought but here was obviously an important part of the package to Fanttik.In fact, even the box it came in was very attractively designed, and I would be as impressed to see it on the shelf of a big-box store as I did coming from Amazon.I like that it comes with a quality rechargeable battery that is chargeable 2 ways - either remove the battery and plug a USB C cable into it, or plug a USB C cable into the laser level and charge it that way.I will say that charging in the laser level is rather time consuming. It seemed to take FOREVER to charge, but it eventually got there. Removing the battery to charge it is probably faster. BUT, you can use this while it's charging, OR you can run it from USB C without having a battery in it at all! So no matter what, if you're on the job site, even if the battery is dead as a doornail, if you have a USB C charge cable you can power this unit and get the job done. The multi-power capability is a big, big plus, and very few have it.In fact, the only thing I wish that it had, was a spare battery. In fact, I wish it had a spare battery for SALE, but I can't seem to find one anywhere. Fanttik - don't forget about accessory sales! You should make extra batteries available for this. In truth, because it has multi-mode power capability, you don't need ANY battery for this, technically. But still...if I was a professional, I would want 2 batteries for this with me on the job. Even if I CAN run it from a power bank.In summary, this is probably one of the best if not THE best laser level I've ever tested or used. Easily a pro-quality piece of equipment, nobody is going to be disappointed with this.And as a side note, Fanttik is actually making a bit of a name for themselves. This isn't my first Fanttik product, I actually have one of their cordless inflators (the X8 Ace) and it, also, is a very fine product. In fact, you look at their entire product line here on Amazon, you can see for yourself that the majority of their products are 4.5-5.0 star rated. Which is to say, this company actually seems to care about quality of their products just a bit. Because it shows across their entire product range.Given my experience with this laser level, as well as their tire inflator which is also excellent, I have no problem recommending this laser level to pretty much anyone, from home owner to hobbyist to full-blown professional. It's quite the hard core little tri-beam, and I think you'll really like it if you give it a whirl.
