The mask fits well over my face. The rubber being soft and subtle conforms and seals well. The four straps hit in just the right spots to ensure proper sealing. These are easily adjustable to ensure a proper fit. Moving the jaw around does not break the seal. I didn't put the cartridge in and test it as I wanted to ensure it was fresh for when the time came. I'm assuming it works as advertised. It is of the screw in type, so easily exchangeable, even while wearing the mask. The lens is large with a great field of view. It comes with a covering on it to ensure it stays in good shape until you need to use it. Overall, this is a quality mask and would recommend whether you're a prepper or need to keep your eyes and lungs out of harm's way.

So, I didn't want to waste the canister for testing. However, I did check the seal on the face by covering the canister seat with firm plastic. Air didn't move across the face seal barrier. Then I also tried blowing air through the seal by blowing out firmly. It also didn't break the seal with pressure. So, with proper fitting, the seal around the face doesn't allow air to flow from the sides. I am happy with the quality of this gas mask, and I would order this again.
