Ozeri Touch Waterproof Digital Kitchen Scale, Washable and Submersible

The scale works great and being waterproof makes it super easy to clean. Battery life is excellent as well. We have had one for a couple years now and just bought a new one to take to work. Very happy with both of them.

My purchase of this scale comes from a story. I bulk purchased dozens of mini chocolate chip cakes because I like the taste and the nutrients fit my diet. However, when my most recent shipment arrived, the nutritional facts had changed: instead of being measured by cake (e.g. a serving = 1 cake), they were measured by ounces (e.g. a serving = 1 ounce). I tried multiple times to contact the bakery to ask how many ounces is in each cake and they did not answer. Eventually, I decided to take matters into my own hands and get this scale. So, did it work? The scale arrived quickly with Amazon Prime shipping. The package contains the scale (w/ batteries), an instruction manual, and a mini flathead screwdriver. Why a screwdriver? Because the battery cover is affixed to the device with screws. The idea is that you can use the mini flathead screwdriver that came with the device to unlock this cover and get going with the device without much effort. Problem: the screws on the cover require a Phillips head, not a flathead (see photo). I had to dig into my toolbox and get a mini Phillips head screwdriver to use on the battery cover. In that case, they might as well have not included the screwdriver. After I got the battery cover off, there were three batteries included and I just had to pull a tab to make them work. I had some difficulties getting the cover back on, but was able to do it with a little bit of force. Good news: my struggle with the battery cover was the most difficult encounter I had with this device. Once that was settled, I set the weight down to test. Check the video attached to this review to see how that went (spoiler: it worked well). When I hit tare, it zeroed out as it was supposed to. When I switched units, it seamlessly moved between grams to fl oz to lb/oz. You can't turn it off with the power button, but it does have an automatic shut-off to save battery. And, best of all, I finally learned the weight of a mini chocolate cake! Overall, I am happy with this kitchen scale. Although I had some difficulty with the battery cover, once I had resolved that issue, everything worked well. It was easy to use and easy to read the numbers, and the weight seems accurate. I will plan to use this scale for future kitchen weighing needs, and perhaps also for packages.

I like this product for the quality and design and easy to wipe clean. It is very light weight and flat/slim. My only dislike is that when I want to weigh something that if the bowl, plate, or item is big it blocks out the digital readout. So when you move the item around it registers the weight differently and then I am not sure how close to accurate it is. So I have to use bowls all the time to weigh so I can see the numbers. It does work well switching between oz, grams ,etc. and it has a zero out feature so you can weigh the bowl, zero it out and then add the item to be weighed. Depending on what you looking for and what you are measuring and how often you might want to look at another product. If you are only measuring small items a not to often then this is a good choice.

This two button scale is nice for measuring out portions by weight, especially when preparing dishes that call for a specific amount of an ingredient. It features all the common units of measure and it is easy to press the button to advance through the units. The Tare function is handy for deduction the weight of a container if you don't want to place raw meats or foods directly on the scale. It is waterproof in that it can be washed with soap and water and rinsed off. You wouldn't want to submerge it for too long. It has been very accurate for me and it has a slim design making it lightweight and easy to store. I'm happy with the purchase.

I found this scale on Amazon by accident. We have had several portable kitchen scales with glass tops in the past. They have worked well, but I'm a bit of a klutz, and glass scale + granite counters + klutz = recipe for disaster. This little gem is the perfect solution. It's accurate, easy to read and reset, can be rinsed under the faucet without damaging the electronics, and can be bumped against the counter, or have a metal utensil dropped on it, without breaking. Added bonus: it uses AAA batteries, not the 2032 flat batteries that I never seem to have on hand. Because it's waterproof, it has a screw-on battery compartment door. It takes me a little time to refit the rubber gasket when replacing the batteries, but that's a very small price to pay for the benefits. Highly recommend!

I used to use a non waterproof kitchen scale. Used to, because eventually food got stuck in basically every crevasse it possibly could have until it stopped working because the buttons could no longer be pressed. Ilch. Don't be like me, get this one. It's so nice to be able to run it under the sink to wash off the gunk. Accuracy is as advertised. Basically comparable to anything else at the price point. Definitely good enough for the kitchen. Don't buy it thinking you can use it for chemistry though. If I were the product designer, one thing I would change is to make it so there's some sort of feedback when the user presses the tare button. What it does is when you press the tare button, it will tare the weight in about 2 seconds, with no indication that the button had been pressed until that happens. My old scale would immediately blank out the screen to let the user know it was taring the weight. Keep in mind, though, this is a nitpick. Something I would like to see added, but definitely not enough to keep me from recommending this scale.

I’m giving the Ozeri Touch Waterproof Digital Kitchen Scale a three-star rating. This item would be greatly improved with internally installed rechargeable batteries that recharge with USB-C. Instead, it requires three AA batteries, and it seems to chew through them quickly. We use it probably five or six times a day, which makes the constant battery replacements pretty frustrating. Another negative is that it auto-powers off to save battery, I presume. It would have been nice if the auto-off time could be modified for different intervals. When I’m weighing coffee for pour-over brewing, it often shuts off before I’m done using it, which is a big annoyance. On the positive side, I appreciate the large platform and the claim that it’s waterproof, which definitely helps when I need to clean it. Overall, while there are some good features, these issues really detract from my experience.

Scale is accurate. Tested it out using tare weights. They registered accurately. Scale is easy to use, waterproof, and large enough for food. Just remember to follow the instructions and remove the battery cover and plastic tab before use

Past experience has taught me it is better to have a water proof scale in the kitchen. This scale has a sleek functional design. Because the scale is flat it is better to use a bowl instead of a plate when measuring food as the plate will make it difficult to see the display and touch the buttons. The buttons are in fact raised dimples and work best when you gently swipe across them as opposed to pressing into them. Overall a good scale.
