Cool pedal to mess around with
First off, I am not a pro or gigging musician and have no desire to be one. I like guitars and messing around with them. My usual quest is to make as much noise as I can to annoy my wife & dog. This pedal really helps the cause! I have no need for a specific effect or sound, just something to play around with. I tested this on a standalone basis and did not chain it with anything else. Minimal effects on the amp, just a little drive and reverb. The pedal works fine. Slight additional hum added when engaged but none when bypassed. It turns out this thing is a lot of fun to mess with. My go to move is to max out all the knobs, push all the buttons & see what happens. Did not disappoint. Sounded like putting an industrial fan in front of my amp during a 60's psych party. Toned things down a bit and it found some great effects buried in there. Each of the knobs adds something to the tone, just not sure what to call it. I still like the fan tremolo kind of effect but now have slowed it down and it sounds much better. Not saying this is a pro pedal, but if you just want to have some fun (and maybe annoy the dog), this is a good place to start.

Good pedal at a great price
I keep forgetting to write a review for this. I noticed there were none a while ago and nobody has written one since so it's up to me. This is a clone of the current MXR Univibe chorus/vibrato. Univibe is not really a chorus or vibrato, it contains elements of each plus tremelo and gradual phase shifting to emulate the dopler effect. It's not chorus or vibrato, and it's not a phaser- it's univibe, a distinct and unique effect. The effect has a vintage voicing which means it can sound a little muddy or dark at the bottom of the sweep in chorus mode. Rolling back the level, depth or both can alleviate this. The sounds at the extreme end of the vibrato mode can nail the warbley and ethereal dissonant guitar from Follow the Leader by Korn, and the chorus mode can replicate everything from light swirling to funky undulations heard on Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. If you remove the 4 screws holding the chassis closed, you might be surprised to find a battery clip. I recommend against using it. If the foot switch is in the on position when the plug is removed from the jack the circuit will remain powered and drain the battery and you may not know because the LED doesn't always indicate wether the battery is drawing power unless there's a jack in the input. It's also not daisychainable because a light but audible modulating of the noise floor can be heard. Idk whether this indicates analog or signal circuitry but it's important to know. Bottom line: If you want to try a less popular effect without dropping too much cash, you need a cheap replacement that will last at least a couple of gigs or you're like me and think these old effects should be public domain, this is worth looking at.

Good effect; not enough depth
The Vibrock "psychedelic rock modulation" pedal seems like it's trying to sound something like the old Univibe, but obviously without the external controller pedal. The Univibe effect is watery pulsing or quivering like the sound of a Leslie rotating speaker. The level knob is just a volume, not an effect level. The effect controls are speed and depth, plus a "Vibe" button that changes the pulsing from a volume modulation (tremolo) to a slight pitch modulation (vibrato). The overall effect is pretty good if you want something subtle. I found the depth range too small. I don't necessarily need a crazy amount of effect, but it's always nice to have the ability to go beyond the depth you want and then back off a little. I find myself trying to turn the knob more because I'm just at the edge of what I'm hearing in my head.

Sound pedal
The Vibrock is a lightweight yet sturdy metal-toned compact card size pedal. The knobs were easy to grasp and turn. A large velcro strip is thoughtfully included that will adhere to the complete back side of the pedal. Therefore the design accommodates battery power by way of four corner screws that do not interfere with adhesion if it is chosen.Although the pedal activated stomp switch has a decided click so as to be assured of its alteration, its on status is correlated with a bright red LED light. The pedal is equipped with three sound selectors: speed, level and depth.Level shuts off sound or allows its maximum volume. Speed allows for a light overlay of vibe or a faster bubbling integrated effect at its maximum. Depth allows for the thickness of the vibe. So can approach the vibe from maximum depth as to its speed. Or the amount of speed adjusted for density. The pedal is also equipped with a vibe switch that is correlated with a blue LED light. This gave my sound an overdrive sound quality. It brought out a higher end out of the distortion channel.Overall the pedal without adding effect warmed up my sound whether clean or distorted channel and found it compelling in its additive overtone for a classic rock sound. The power accommodates AC power and that electrical designation is clearly marked at the top of the pedal. The top surface of the pedal evokes a mystical and painting artisan quality as an open cosmic radiating eye overlooks a paint splash underneath.
