Nice to get the classics at a good price

Good introductory piece. Very readable text (compared with a different unreadable edition that was previously purchased). If you want some Jane Austin then this edition is for you.

Read recently for first time - loved it, what would we do without Jane Austen? Highly recommended. She wrote this later than Pride and Prejudice I believe and you can notice differences in her themes and style of writing. A real feast.

Without a doubt Jane Austen's worst book. I bet she rolls about in her grave every time somebody opens it. The hero and heroine are big wet blankets and snivelling killjoys who appear to have been written for a bet. However there are flashes and even whole chapters of the lovely characterisations Austen fans seek, and Mrs Norris is the standout character. Always readable just for these parts, or for the regular lovely turns of phrase, but otherwise it's a total stinker.

Five stars: what else can you say about this master of the language and of narrative? The clearest moral sense, delivered with sensitivity and hard, icy clarity. Read Persuasion as well: even harder.

Una obra clásica más cercana a nuestra realidad contemporánea. Ciertamente más seria y dramática que otras obras de Austen, con mayor complejidad en los personajes en su análisis moral y psicológico.

Jane Austen needs no reviews. She is timeless.
