Used in place of air conditioning to reduce energy costs in homes over 1, 000 sq. Ft. Easy-to-wire, 2-speed pull-chain switch for no wiring through walls. Efficient, long-lasting, thermally protected, permanent split-capacitor motor runs at 120 Volts. Balanced aluminum fan-blade assembly for quiet operation. All-metal construction shroud. Pre-assembled and ready for installation. Includes seal-tite White aluminum ceiling shutter, installation hardware, plenum boards, and easy-to-follow diyer instructions. This whole-house Fan is installed on the ceiling between the attic and living space. Louvers close when the Fan is not operating. Great fan, but the louvers make an unholy racket while it’s running and it leaks hot air in the winter. We made an insulating block that we stuff in above the louvers during winter to seal off the attic, but that really shouldn’t be required. I think this design is good for something like a workshop, but the quietcool design is better if this is going to be in your house.
