Black Gesso by GOLDEN, 32 fl. oz. Jar, Professional Acrylic Gesso, Opaque

I finally took the leap and bought the big jar. I'm going through this brand like crazy. My wood panels need sealing/primer and this is just the best to get a super smooth surface for paintings. It spreads easily and one coat is usually good. I write the brand I used on the back of the panel so when I need to go back and touch up the edges for shows I know which bottle to grab.

Black opaque gesso that dries to a semi matte appearance.I like it. I like it a lot! Good stuff!

Golden products NEVER fail me when it comes to acrylic painting (I cannot use oils due to the smell- I suffer from chronic migraines) The gesso has a nice, thick consistency- great base for your canvases. I use both black and white gesso dependent on what I'm painting- black really can change the entire mood of your piece. I had to order a second jar because my lovely feline decided to knock my brand new 32oz jar off my shelf. Lol- it cleaned up very well as the floor was tile- just spritz lots of water to thin it out and paper towels(luckily my art area is in our kitchen - gotta use what room ya can in an NYC apartment!) I'll forever be a Golden fan and I use ALL their mediums and acrylic paints- both heavy body and fluid.

I liked the ease of application. The color of the gesso. And the texture is thick and yet smooth going onto the canvas. Great product!

use on fabric, canvas, wood all with excellent results, use as primer for large work figures outside, seems to protect/support the outer paint layer after 3 years, sun, wind, rain

Good paint. Easy to use. Hub's is Rocking his inner Bob Ross with it and seems to be happy with it.
