This is a nice little transceiver for the price. It's FCC type accepted for the bands its sold for use on. Checking the transmitted spectrum on a spectrum analyzer shows no major harmonics on the 440MHz band, and minor harmonics on 2m.The menu system is simple and easy to use. It comes with a short and simple manual that covers what one needs to know. The radio is supported by chirp and is easy to program using chirp as well as the bluetooth connected app on your mobile device.While I use the H3 in the normal unlock mode, its easy to switch modes to Ham or GMRS only. Plenty of details online about this little gem of a radio.Is it is rugged as an Icom or Yaesu. No. But the japanese brands could learn something from this radio's design. In particular, USB-C charging and USB-C / bluetooth programming are nice ease of use features (I suspect the USB ports make it difficult to make the device water resistant). Not that is a con (given the price point) but it isn't as rugged as the aforementioned Icoms and Yaesus. Only 199 memories so that is a limiting if you need to program a lot of frequencies. But one could either reprogram the radio based on the task you're setting out for, or just buy a few and program each one for a different task.To sum it up: its a good radio to start with, a good radio to experiment with, and a good go-bag radio.

The media could not be loaded. Radio has a solid heavy feel, not a cheap light unit. Sound quality is very nice, good signal pickup. Easy to Bluetooth program with the app (the reason i bought this one). USB C charging is great either right to the battery, or the battery on the radio. Has a lot of features and functionality in the menus. The lights are nice, the screen goes off, but the light “breath” to let you know its on (see my video) . Screen is readable in daylight. Bight display. Dual PTT needs getting used to, you can switch A B with the button but the top PTT works which ever frequency is in A, even if the marker icon is on B. And vice versa.

The Tidradio H3 feels like your typical chinese ht, but there's more to it. Uses Kenwood style hand mic connections, programable via Chirp, the typical monotone voice guide unit, but where it differs greatly is how you program it and charge it. Besides programming it via the mic jack like other chinese handhelds you have the options of programming it via USB-C and Bluetooth via your phone or tablet. The former is way more reliable then the old mic jack method and the bluetooth makes it easy to program or clone in the field. Btw, you don't need an account to use the app to program it unless you want to be able to search and import repeater settings from within the app. Then there's the USB charging which is a big game changer because you can charge the batteries directly via any USB-C phone charger and you don't have to leave the battery in the radio to charge. No proprietary cables and chargers means less to carry around with you while traveling and simplifies things greatly in emergencies.Now for why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. Mainly its because the Bluetooth is limited to only programming and cloning. You can't pair it with a bluetooth headset so its less versatile then it could be which is a missed opportunity in my opinion. Also with mine the screen is off center, but not enough to impede the use of the radio to force me to send it back for an exchange. Aside from that mine came with a rapid charging drop in charger, but as far as I can tell its just a regular drop in charger as it doesn't seem to charge any faster then plugging directly into the battery. So not perfect, but still pretty good of a radio.

This is a fun little radio to play with. It doesn't get great reviews when it comes to spurious emissions, however the bluetooth programming feature is really neat and should be a built-in feature of all radios in my opinion. It is very handy for making quick code plug changes on the fly and for finding new repeaters using your cell phone and transferring to the radio, etc. The company has great support if you have any issues. Due to the unclean emissions this is basically a toy and not a tool, but still a lot of fun to play with.

Great radio! Definitely will be buying more of these.
