Q: Most ant killers just make the ants move to another location. Has anyone actually observed large numbers of dead ants on and around the mounds?

I use this in my Florida yard as a mound killer. I would find piles of dead ants, actually stacked in neat mounds, outside of the nest several days after applying. Within a week or two there were no more ants.

Q: Has anyone used a broadcast spreader to apply this? If so, what spreader and setting is correct?

We used a Scott's push style broadcast sprayer at the default setting. We applied to 2-1/2 acres in May and all ants were gone in a week

Q: Does this product harm free range chickens in the yard?

We keep our chickens up for 3 days, as it looks like crumble.

Q: Do you know if this will work on twig ants?

It does not specify that particular ant. However it has killed every ant I feed it to. It does not allow them to move several feet away like all the other ant killers I have tried. Not cheap but works!
