Finally! Sharp Knives!!
Iām reminded of a time, many moons ago, when I āummed and ahhedā over buying an iPod. āDo I really NEED it?ā Iād say to myself. Eventually giving in and, like most people, never looking back. Well this knife sharpener has resurrected that feeling. I wasnāt sure I really needed it. My knives get kinda sharp with the sharpener I have. But I really wanted that ācutting paper with one swipe of a knifeā experience I see on the ads. So I resisted the urge to stall and bought one of these rolling sharpeners and⦠hands down as good as I hoped. Boom š„

It's OK, just OK.
This particular one is nice & hefty, appears to be well-built & it works OK.There are more cons to this whole type of knife sharpener though. It's not suitable for many types of knife.Small penknives, cleavers or tall bladed knives make it a bit awkward if not totally unsuitable. Not all your knives will have an edge that is the two angle options on the holder so I found manually lifting the magnetic base slightly & holding it steady was needed to just make sure you were hitting the edge to maintain that particular knife rather than completely grinding in a new angle which would take time. There is a minor safety aspect of passing your hand close across a vertically exposed blade. This is a potential cut risk however slight it may be.I also question the longevity of the grinding surfaces. They just don't look or feel particularly durable in the long term, but I can't say that for sure.It is not a fool-proof sharpening system, it simplifies the task for sure, but it takes a little learning curve to make it work to its best abilities.I would definitely say buy one of these over one of the expensive brands first to see if you like this style of sharpener. It's just not for me.

Not whatās advertised
I bought this sharpener in the belief that it would help me sharpen my knives better than the traditional sharpener, but unfortunately it doesnāt work well.To start with it has two different types of sharpening grit which in theory makes sense but thatās not what the company are advertising as they say that one side isāgritā and the other is helix stainless steel roller to remove the burrs from the knife so that itās sharp.Because of this I have serious problems with the product.
