Nightbane (The Lightlark Saga Book 2) (Volume 2) Paperback – October 22, 2024

How can I even review this book? There’s so many things I want to say but can’t even put Into words, but I will try. I completely loved Lightlark from the very first page, maybe it was the writing style that left me captivated. After finishing the book, I knew that Nightbane will not disappoint and thank God it didn’t!Everything about this book, I loved, and I have no complaints besides the fact that I just wanted MORE! I think this book had the perfect characters, the perfect plot, the perfect pacing, the perfect action and I personally would not have changed anything about these books.I don’t know how Alex did it, and maybe some people will think I’m overreacting but TO ME this series is magnificent so far. I would do anything to receive a physical copy of the next book. You want my soul? Take it! 😂 I never wanted this story to end and there’s something about the way Alex gives prominence to her readers.I don’t know what to expect from the next book, but what I can say was I was Team Grim, still Team Grim and will ALWAYS be Team Grim. People might be confused on how but hey, I’m just a sucker for dark, mysterious characters. I know some people were upset about Grims actions, I was too, but I’m a person who considers “intent” and I never believed Grim intended to hurt Isla.I did not expect that ending, WHO THE HELL WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE MARRIED! But not even that who would have thought Isla was the one to have accidentally killed all those people and the children. My heart breaks for her, and I was conflicted on how to feel with Grim taking her memories because it’s like now she’ll have to grieve all over again. I love Isla and Grim so much, that I honestly can’t even be Team Oro. It’s like, a song I love by Jazmine Sullivan called In Love With Another Man, when Isla said that Enya was right and she doesn’t deserve Oro, I thought about a part in the song and it’s so fitting:“You should go and find someone else, who could treat you right, give you the worldSomeone who understands the man you are, cause baby you shine so bright and I will just dim your star”And if you know anything about Oro and his powers that last part is completely HIM! Im so ready for whenever book 3 comes out. I have to thank Alex for making her imagination into a book, if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have been able to read this remarkable book. I would just like to say if you love fantasy with romance, action packed scenes, incredible magic systems, enemies to lovers, shadow daddies, then this book is for you! Don’t make me tell you twice!

This book was a lot better than the first. I like the premise a lot more and it was a little bit more interesting.The books says that there isn't a time jump from the last book to this book but it feels like it. The chapters weren't labeled the best but there are memories/Dreams and then present day chapters. In the first book we didn't see much of a relationship between two of the lead characters but in this book we really see the true nature of Grimm. The book has a lot more romance and a difficult love triangle/kinda cheating. The romance scenes are generic and vague but you get the gist of whats happening.The book ends with another cliff hanger and still no resolution in sight for the overall issue of the book.This series reminds me of [book:A Court of Thorns and Roses|50659467] . You have a blonde male magical entity (of Light/Nature) and a magical Brunette male of Night, fighting over a redhead who doesn't become magical until powers are given to her from other magical humans (one from each realm). All learning to fight and save their realm from evil.

Great book. Easy to read and follow along. I hope they make it a movie.

I'm not a true fan of fantasy books but after reading Fourth Wing, I needed more. I'm so glad I chose this series! I have grown to love the characters so much. Their story is amazing and I have such a vivid image of them in my mind as I'm reading. Still haven't decided who my favorite ruler is yet. But on to the third book in the series and maybe that will help me decide. So excited there will be another after that!

What a plot twist! I greatly enjoyed book 2 of the Lightlark series and would rate it an 8/10.

I am in awe of this book it was well written. I love inr interaction between both Grim and Oro, but I must say in this triangle of three hearts and love, I'm rooting for Grim Thd Nighshade 🤴 King. I also fell for Oro, but just like I hope Isla love and heart belong more to Grim because I really hope they are endgame. I don't think I'd be happy any other way

The plot twists in this book holy moly 😭 I beseech you all to read this series, I am starting the next one IMMEDIATELY!!
