Review: I have had Waspinators for about 10 years now and they do work at keeping wasps from building a nest to close IF you get them hung up early enough before the wasps are around. I have 10 of them hanging up around our property. ( I dislike wasps ) I fill them up full of plastic grocery bags so they keep their shape. Ones that I had in previous years that were exposed to rain, sun and sometimes snow etc. deterioated in a couple of years. When it would rain they would get soaked and after time would rot . For the last 3 years before I hang them up. I spray them with water proofer ( like you use on boots etc. ). This really works well and makes a huge difference in how long they last. When it rains the water just runs off, so the material doesn't rot. If you haven't bought a Waspinator before you might want to try one, or more. I recommend you fill them with plastic bags, ( I even save my 20kg plastic bags from bird seed and use them ), and then invest in a can of spray water proofer and coat them evenly. I usually do 2 coats. Hang them up where you do not want wasps and enjoy the summer. UPDATE: I ordered two more of these Waspinators and these ones are now made out of a material like a tarp, so they are waterproof now. They still work the same. The wasps will come around but they don't build nests anywhere around our yard front or back. I hung one up in our wood shed, where they always built a nest and this year they never even tried. Hang them up early in the spring before the wasps are out . I have 10 of them hanging around our front and back yard. One on our deck. I recommend them, especially if you live in the country on an acreage with lots of trees like we do. UPDATE August 2019: I've added another picture. This summer we have had tons of rain , almost every day and the Waspinators made from cloth disintegrated in the rain. The new version made from the tarp like material lasted through all the rain no problem, as you can see in the picture showing the two of them. So if you buy these make sure ( even if you have to contact the seller and ask them ) that the ones you get are made out of the tarp material if they will be exposed to weather. Diese Wespenart gilt als friedlich und nicht interessiert an menschlichen Nahrungsmitteln, die gemeinhin in der Sommerzeit freiluftverzehrt werden. Da das Nest nur mit großem Brimborium hätte entfernt werden können, ließen wir es testhalber einfach mal hängen. Und hatten es einen Sommer lang unter SEHR mißtrauischer Beobachtung. Wir wurden vom Wespenschwarm einfach ignoriert. Die machten schlichtweg einen ganzen Sommer lang ihr Wespendings, zum Winter war das Nest leer und wurde dann genüßlich von Meisen aufgepickt. Die Panikattacken von und Nonsensediskussionen mit geschockten Besuchern waren allerings nervig. Schließlich sind alle Wespen böse! Interessanterweise blieben wir in dem Sommer von anderen, nervigen Wespen weitestgehend verschont. Aufgrund dieser positiven Erfahrung hängt auf unserer Terrasse nun immer ein Waspinator. Mein alter Wespenvertreiber hielt jahrelang und ist nun einem Wintersturm zum Opfer gefallen. Die Aufhängung war bereits mehrfach gerissen und geklebt. Nun musste mal ein neuer her, ich habe hier zugeschlagen. Zwei zum Preis für meinen alten Waspinator finde ich gut. Die Lieferung erfolgte - wie gewohnt - zügig. Der Wespensack sollte besser ausgestopft werden. Ich habe Zeitungspapier und Plastikfolie genommen. Der Aufhängeort sollte wettergeschützt sein, dann hat man länger was davon. Und nein, die Atrappe hält nicht immer alle Wespen fern, das tun die duftenden Abschreckungsmittel, die gemeinhin empfohlen werden aber auch nicht. Im Übrigen sind alle Wespen sehr nützliche Tiere, da sie ihre Brut mit anderen Insekten füttern, gerne auch MÜCKEN! Unschön sind die Arten, die ihre Nester direkt in Ritzen und Spalten unserer Häuser bauen. Das sind dann auch die nervigen Arten, die einem die Freiluftmahlzeiten vermiesen. Ein Waspinator kann ggf. hilfreich sein. Immer noch besser als diese elenden Wespenfallen, bei denen man den Insekten bei Ertrinken zusehen kann. Der graue Sack ist zugegebenermaßen kein Designerschätzchen. Wir konnten ihn recht hoch und unauffällig aufhängen und haben auch in Zeiten großer Wepenplagen relative Ruhe in unserem Freiluftwohnzimmer.
