Recommended by our vet for our dog with urinary issues. Seems to be working well.

I can’t speak to how well this works. I gave 4 grams or approximately 1 tsp in warm water by syringe to my dog who has kidney failure according to recommendations found for initial dosing for a 40lb dog. Prior to his treatment he was itching constantly and had mouth tremors for the first time. The herbs may have helped that. My fear is the Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, which is highly toxic if not prepared properly. In that case it’s toxic to liver and kidneys. I called Sun Ten in Irvine and they told me to use it with discretion because they don’t sell to Amazon! Now I’m really worried that I poisoned my dog with an illegitimate product! It’s possible that it was prepared with care and just sold illegally but I’ll never know unless I have it tested. In any case, I’m tossing it out and have ordered Rehmannia 8 by Health Concerns which has substituted the aconitum or monk’s hood with a safer substitute.

This product contains an herb that is toxic: Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata (Pau fu zi). It can cause severe neurological and cardiovascular issues: Ventricular tachycardia, bidirectional ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation, which can be fatal. I used the prescribed dose as listed on the container (1 gram/.24 teaspoon) and after about 15 minutes my heart beat suddenly raised to 161 bpm and was beating irregularly. I took potassium to slow my heart down and waited for the side-effects to pass (including chest pain, lightheaded and nausia). My weight is 170 pounds, as a way to judge how one dose may affect you at your weight. I tried a half dose the next day and I still experienced an elevated/irregular heartbeat; albeit, less severe and for a shorter duration. I will definitely not use this product further, and encourage everyone to do your own research before using.

I divided to order this herb because of the reviews I saw. The bottle that was delivered to me was completely different and it wasn’t the same as described. I only noticed it after it was already opened. I don’t even know what I got and I gave it to my pet once. I’m very disappointed.
