CV40 Carburetor Compatible with 1988-2006 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 1200 XL883 XL1200,1988-2016 Dyna & FXR,1988-2017 Softail,1988-2016 Touring,1998-Up Sportster Electra Glide Fatboy & More Carb

I've had this carburetor on my 95 sport for the last month and a 1 fantastic carburetor no problems. I won't need one in the future cause it's well put together.

It was a fit. The bike started right up withthe new carburator and is running smooth.

Carburetor works ok. All features do not work. Unable to use choke feature. We will see in spring if it can be improved on.

Had my stock Kein on my 1991 fxr that ran fine, decided to pick up one of theses just to try it out and see if it was junk or a very good deal at such a low price and to have a extra in case the stock Kein became not rebuilable at some point. Bolted it up right out of the box with the jets that came with it. Hit the start and she fired right up and ran better than the stock Kein guess i just got used to the way it ran which i thought was fine. But throtte is so much crisper during acceleration and idles smoother. What a deal and a steal at the price. Going to order another just in case. The cost is basicaly the same as 2 full meals now days at a fast food joint.

I bought this carb to replace my stock card on my 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200. There were two things I had to do to the new carb to make it work on my 02 Sportster: I had to swap over the old throttle cable attachment and I had to re-tap the holes that the air cleaner bolts on to. Both of those were very easy as I have a tap & die set. This carb came with the main and slow jet already installed. They did not have any numbers on them to tell what they are. The new carb did come with 3 extra main and slow jets. I removed the jets that came installed and put in a 185 main jet and 48 slow jet. I did this because I have Vance & Hines 2 into 2 exhaust and an exposed Arlen Ness air filter. After installing the new carb I set the idle mixture screw (which is already accessible without having to drill it out) to 2 turns out. Pulled the choke out and started the bike, started right up. I got it warm and took it for a spin around the neighborhood to properly warm it up. When I got back, I immediately shut down the engine so i can pull the spark plugs and see how rich or lean its running. It was running a tiny bit to lean for my liking, so I turned out the idle mixture screw to 2.5 turns and that made it run perfectly. The issue I had with my old stock carburetor was having backfiring through the carb and hesitation when I was riding at very low throttle. My issue is now fixed, it feels like a brand new bike, and it only cost $45 and a couple hours of my time, I recommend this carb if you're trying to replace yours on an 02 Sportster 1200.

Works great all I did was change the jetting and slapped it on I’d definitely buy another one.

1999 Harley-Davidson fxdl. But this carburetor cv40 and have a very mixed feelings about it because it had to be rejetted to work properly. The Jets were included in the kit. So far so good carburetor work great bike ran good. Easy install? One problem being that pulling the float bowl off, the preformed gasket on the float bowl was basically two big for the groove now I have this horrible leak of gas on my motor. also came with two spark plugs one of which had a broken piece of ceramic and it was not usable. last thing is that the thin wall fuel line was kinked while folding for shipping and permanently unusable. very unfortunate, because this carburetor seems to work really really good, aside from these minor yet tiresome problems. Good value for the $$. Easy install, fitment was excellent. Delivered on time.

2000 Dyna worked great
