Fantastic little heater that gives off a lot of heat even on one bar setting; heats up my living room quickly and gives direct heat too, haven't needed to put the central heating on yet. The heater makes no noise, is light but sturdy and I just move it from room to room and shut the door. It's cheap to run, much cheaper than gas central heating. Great buy!

It is fantastic value. Very good in taking the chill off. My dog absolutely loves it. Well worth purchasing.

It just arrived and I can tell this about it at the moment: - it's warm, also just one element is enough to feel the difference - it's abslolutely silent - the light is nice to me, a warm yellow, also if it's recommended not to look directly at the tube light - the base is not very stable but it stays up and the anti-tilt mechanism works well - the handle is not very deep, it could be better, but you can manage, it's a light weight heater - I checked the tube length for the replacement (it will happen sooner or later), and as another customer said, it's 208 mm not 225 mm or 245 mm as described elsewhere - the side openings for the replacement are one of the main reasons I got this model, as it looks easier to replace the tubes than other models. It looks like you just need to unscrew 4 screws to replace the tubes, not many compared to other models. At the moment it looks a good heater.

Buying a halogen heater is the same as a printer. Not how much is the item but how cheap will the ink be. In the case of this fire it's all about how easy the tubes will be to change when they go. This one is a dream. Undo one screw on each side panel and pup out the covers to get immediate EASY access. Ignore the reviews saying the tubes 'don't last'. DONT move the fire when its still on. DONT keep switching the heat settlings. IDEALY plug it into a extension cable and switch it of at the mains. LEAVE IT ALONE. Even then I'm sure the tubes will eventually go but getting and changing them is EASY. That's the main thing! So far so good. No tubes gone since buying & gives great heat at around 3.5 Meters from seating area on full @ 60p per hour. I originally bought a STX_344245 SupaWarm Deluxe Halogen Heater £34.77 (SHHD1200) and it was rubbish. See my review of that one. Total disassembly and 20+ screws mean it will just sit there until they all fail.! BUY THIS ONE.

Terrible .2 bars not coming on after only 1 month

Whilst the heat is immediate and bright (holy cow, is it bright!) it does come at a price. That price can be measured in months (less than three in this reviewer's case) and the cost of the replacement bulbs. The entirely unhelpful "frequently purchased products" would suggest 225mm tubes are required. The correct answer is that you'll need to buy 208mm replacement tubes. Best of luck with removing the dead bulb from the fitting. You'll need it if you're to do so without stripping the wires from their fittings and if you don't possess the prerequisite patience of a saint. Oh, and the gear on mine which makes it turn (what a useless feature) stripped and now makes an annoying click halfway through its cycle, never to work again. I've given it a generous 3 stars... Because it's Christmas.

The heating is in good condition and functions well. It is safe to use and it gives brightness into my room.

Excellent value wouldn't be without.Very warm and can move it anywhere.Its very quiet and the heat is unbelievable.
