Ionic Silver (Sovereign among others) don't have the research claims or patented technology that Silver Biotics has. Speaking as a long time user of Silver Biotics, I trust their science more because it doesn't hurt the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract and can take out viruses and parasites, which Sovereign can't. I don't really risk this daily but I feel much safer with SB knowing that it is out of my system after a day and no risk of build up in the skin which can only potentially happen with ionic forms of Silver. It's 10ppm = 10x more effective than 3,000 ppm of ionic silver. Anytime I had a question on specific bacteria or sickness, Silverbiotics had the study handy or was willing to do it.

Does it really expire in 2 months. I actually need it for a sick pet. It would take them a while to get through a bottle

I have never seen an expiration date for this product. It is nano particles of silver and water. If you keep it sealed and away from light it should last for months at lthe very least. I hope your pet gets better.
