Incredible!
These are incredible earbuds! The sound quality is exactly what I would expect from a company known for producing audiophile-grade products. No coloration that I can make out, and I'm able to hear details in music that can get buried when listening on something intended for the average consumer. The adaptive environment features are great, too. I like that you have the option to enable noise cancellation to drown out everything around you so all you have left is what's playing back into your ears, or you can enable transparency mode which picks up the outside through its microphones so you can hold conversations while still listening to music, a podcast, or what have you. The only issue I've experienced so far, which I won't remove any stars for because I don't believe the product was intended for this, was that when I was playing along to music on my drum set in noise cancellation mode, the microphones would pick up my drums during quieter sections of music and distort the audio until the music got louder again. I was able to work around this by switching to the normal mode. Battery life seems good on my first day I've used them for extended periods, but my right bud seems to be to drain 2% faster than the left. I'm going to keep monitoring this to see if it has something to do with charging, but it's not currently complicating anything. Fit-wise, they're great! I'm using the small premium buds and I haven't had any issues with them coming out of my ears as other reviewers have mentioned. For the price-point, I'm very impressed with these buds and would highly recommend them to anyone that appreciates fidelity in their music.

A leap in earbud technology
I have been an audio enthusiast for the last 30 years and this product is a clear leap in technology, especially for the price. Large drivers, class AB amplification, a wide soundstage, and details galore. Crisp and clear notes leap out into the outmost corners of the ether. Never harsh but always revealing. There is a holographic quality to the sound signature, however, Sennheiser's MTW4 are certainly better in this regard. Sennheiser's offering has exceptional tuning. One could prefer a BMW but a Genesis is still very luxurious. These buds are vented, so there is a ported subwoofer effect when a deep bass note hits. The bass never bleeds into the mids and is amazingly satisfying simply because it doesn't mimic a sealed subwoofer. Deep and wonderfully impactful. I would be surprised if you do not like how these earbuds sound. Truly a portable club experience with a remarkable battery life to boot.

Awesome Nuetral Sound
These buds are expensive, but deliver the goods. Ear nozzle will accompany 3rd party tips. I swear by Spinfit 100. Buds come in a solid, well built case. Buds fit very comfortably in ear. It is hard to find earbuds that have a neutral sound signature. Most listeners want a very (or even exaggerated) bass. Most bud manufacturers tune their buds to be bass heavy. These are nuetral. You can increase the bass, but I generally don't. I listen more to classical or jazz music. I want a crisp bass note with defined decay. I cannot comment on noise cancellation because i don't like the way it distorts the music or adds the inexplicable pressure to my ears. I prefer passive noise cancellation--proper fit. I work in a very noisy work environment and just live with it. If i want a strong bass presence, I recommend Soundcore models--especially Soundcore Liberty 4NC. All of their line is excellent at great prices. The same is true for Tozo and Earfun. One irritating issue is that the Bluetooth range is not as powerful as some other models and it drops the bluetooth sugnal more often than it should. Still a great set of buds!

A purchase I’ve come to regret
I have owned Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 and 1+ earbuds. Both were easy to use, comfortable enough to wear, had excellent battery life, and most importantly delivered clear and balanced sound. Alas, both reached a point where they would no longer hold a charge and needed to be replaced. I went straight for the M100 earbuds from Cambridge. Right out of the box, the easily connected to my tablet and phone via bluetooth. The sound is ‘audiophile quality.’ Sadly, the positives end there. The ‘Melomania Connect’ app has been a nightmare. It refused to find my earbuds, which meant I had no control over such things as noise cancelling, equalization, updating firmware. It took countless attempts to install and uninstall, restore factory defaults and so on before I was finally able to get the app on my phone to find the earbuds. [My tablet never did]. The app prompted me to update the firmware; so I did. Having done the update, the earbuds now lose the bluetooth connection to my devices at random… sometimes I can get no more than 15 or 20 seconds of audio before the source freezes up. Given that, these have become useless. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. I can’t possibly recommend the M100 model. Reading the reviews here, it’s evident these earbuds work for many users… but many others wind up like me with about $175 worth of useless electronics on their hands and in search of a better option.

Cambridge audio…. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 August 2024 Style Name: 8GBSize Name: 256GBColour Name: Midnight What to say about these earbuds? If having Matt berry telling you you’re connected is a plus then well these may be for you. Yes if you choose the Southwark option in the voice settings you get Matt berry informing you of things. Well whatever voice prompts are used. If your main point is ANC then these might not be for you. Though they do a very decent job. Sadly the ANC are not perfect for the underground. It does enough to mask the noise but not enough to eradicate it. Tho I always prefer sound quality over ANC. So not really a huge problem for me. I do like the sound. And obviously having Matt berry tell me my buds are connected is kind of cool. I found the fit nice and comfortable. Haven’t used these much so can’t say for 100% if I could call these the best buds a man/woman can buy. Would I recommend them? Yes would be the short answer. Granted they are not overly cheap. And have heard some people complain about the size of the charging case. Ok so it’s not small like the Apple EarPods; but I don’t find them overly massive or have issues with carrying in my pocket. Also must add I am no audiophile or an expert in the science of sound and music so I can’t beguile you with the beauty of the highs and lows or the mids. But I have been pretty indecisive when it comes to earbuds had a few over the years. Sadly lost my senheisser momentum 4 earbuds which were nice. But these Cambridge audio’s are nice. And good to support a British company. (And no I’m not part of the farage brigade) I personally find these buds to be decent. Battery is good sound quality is good. The touch is responsive so no issues playing or pausing by touching the buds. Phone call quality also seemed to be good as well. Obviously these won’t bear the bowers and Wilkins PX8. But those are headphones so bigger drivers. If you’re looking for a decent pair of buds I would recommend these. But of course this all comes down to taste and preference. As the earbud market is pretty tight. With Bose and Sony and senheisser. All decent buds. So of course it will be hard to make a judgement call on which ones are the best ones for you. The Cambridge audio buds are no slouch in the market. And I am enjoying using them. The music is vibrant. Not much bass. (But the EQ on the factory flat) and not overly keen on bass. They are better on headphones (my opinion of course) So there you have it my review hopefully I’ve been helpful. If not I apologise profusely. A sad update (play the violins sad music please) I am sad to say after a few weeks of use, I have found a few issues, sound wise sadly if volume up to max there is that bassy sound you get on much cheaper speakers; I really wanted to love these earbuds; maybe I got unlucky and my pair became faulty who knows. So I’ve decided to just stick with headphones. That’s not to say the sound quality on these are bad. Just that issue and ANC isn’t amazing. Tam Fandango signing off
