This is the first leather that I have ever bought for projects. And the first leather projects that have undertaken for that matter. So while I wish I could compare it to know high quality brands, I simply cannot. I can say that I found it wonderful to work with and good enough for my purposes.Out of the original 1ft square sheet, I have gotten an axe sheath and knife dangler / belt clip and have enough left over for at least one more small project. Perhaps more. It has a nice finish top and bottom and has been easy to work with.Only two minor issues that I make note of.The sheet that I received was not quite square. Not much of an issue but does mean having to waste some trimming to a square edge. This may be absolutely normal and I wouldn't make a fuss over it. It's just worth being aware of.Also I found that the top grain is very soft and impressions very easily. To the point that imperfections on my cutting surface might transfer to the workpiece. This has happened. Again though, for all I know, this could be entirely normal. But it is also worth being aware of.In conclusion, I am very happy with this so far and I may order more in the future.
