Outstanding Customer Service and Product
I bought the Somfy unit as a replacement for the one originally installed along with my awning. I was thrilled that it arrived in record time and I promptly programmed the new unit (or so I thought) and attached it to my awning front bar. However, when extended the awning kept on retracting between 20-50 minutes over and over. I watched countless videos and tried everything I could think of to correct the issue. Out of frustration I finally called Somfy tech support and explained the problem in the hope that they would suggest a fix. Their curt response was “it’s defective.” At that point I called Mike, the owner of Used Camera Guy (my call was promptly returned), and told him that Somfy said the unit was defective. He said “no worries.” He asked me if the new unit was a new install or a replacement. I told him that it was a replacement. That changed everything. He told me that the reason the awning was retracting was that the motor memory was searching for the original sensor and not the new one (it wasn’t defective). Mike patiently walked me through some steps to erase the original sensor and pair the new one. His fix did the trick! The new sensor now works flawlessly. He even apologized for Somfy’s response to me. I couldn’t ask for better customer service. It’s a rarity these days.

They sell you used merchandise that they label as new
This product came in with tape marks, scratch marks, and missing parts. I would give this company minus stars if that were a choice. After I returned this to Amazon, I decided to purchase it directly from the Somfy company

Good insurance for your awning
The product arrived on time and in good condition. Installation was fairly straightforward; instructions were good. Everything worked as described the instructions until I shook the awning to activate the switch. It didn’t work. I started over and went through the whole process several times over three days. The fifth time, the awning retracted as it should. Before this attempt, I ran the sensitivity dial through its whole range twice. Maybe wiping the contacts did the trick??I’m happy with the purchase and recommend this product to protect your awning.

Easy Installation
Ordered from Amazon, as it was about $50 cheaper than ordering from Sunsetter. Exact same product. Installation was easy (though I had to put it on the arm of the awning, rather than then end). Was put together and tested within 20 minutes. Very pleased.
