The most incredible IEMs for the money
I use these for audiophile listening (high, constant bitrate audio files) and live gigging IEMs in a professional band.I've waited a long time to write this review. I wanted to make sure burn-in had fully occurred so that I could compare them with my other IEMs. I have to say that I'm amazed by these units in this price bracket. When I first listened to them (pre burn-in) I thought there was too much bass response and not enough sonic balance. This is normal, apparently(?), and takes time to settle. Once they were properly burnt-in (around a fortnight of use) they balanced out incredibly. It was a night and day difference from brand new to standard use. I'm glad I waited 3 months to write this...I compared these to several IEMs. I also own a set of the Yinyoo KZ ZSX (1DD & 5BA drivers per unit) to compare them to, as well. The Yinyoo KZ ZSX are good IEMs with great reviews for a reason; there are very good. However, these KZ Zax units are even better! I also compared them to M6-Pro IEMs and other brands that I have. Across the board, these are the best IEM's I've ever used. The cable noise on the KZ ZSX was quite high. On the KZ Zax it's much better, with a much less noticeable cable noise. On the KZ ZSX units, one of the connectors on the driver unit had broken. I fixed it with superglue. This worked, but it meant I cannot remove the cable. So, I decided to get a new pair as I sometimes cable swap. I was going to order another set of KZ ZSX, but I saw these and took a chance on jumping up to 1DD and 7BA per unit. I'm glad I did.The presentation of KZ Zax soundscape is very even, exceptionally detailed and rich, without being overpowering in any frequency. In the beginning, prior to burn-in, the EQ on the bass was unacceptably high. You could hear the bass-guitar or deep cellos/double bass strings overpowering the rest of the music, as if the music had been mixed or mastered with too much bass. After burn-in the sound evens out over time. When these have reached equilibrium, the low middle, mid-middle, presence and treble matches the bass very well, to give unprecedented detail and richness to this listener's ears. The KZ Zax comfort is excellent, even better than the KZ ZSX units. While listening to music with the KZ Zax to music that I know very well, I have heard things I simply could not hear with the old KZ ZAX units.Yes, these KZ Zax units are £20 more than the very good KZ ZSX units. But, for those extra 4 Balanced Armatures, the more advanced audio tuning of the unit, and the clearly superior cable, it's well worth the investment.CABLE UPGRADE UPDATE: KZ Silver/Blue Hybrid (784 cores) Upgrade Cable. This is the best upgrade cable purchase I've ever made. I have upgraded the stock cable of my KZ Zax IEM and I cannot tell you what an improvement has been made! There's no cable noise at all and the sound is even better. The sound if full, deep, rich and more detailed, with a wonderful midrange and presence balance. I cannot recommend the purchase enough! However, there's a downside! There's so much copper in these cables that the volume you're used to will sound dropped as it's pushing against so much more copper. You have to up the volume output a lot from your device. This may impact battery time (device dependant) as you're pushing more energy through all that copper braid to have the same volume output.

This should be the shortest review ever!
This really should be as simple as, BUY these if you’re even thinking about a new pair of IEMs…I’m not an audiophile, but I definitely am a lover of sound quality. I’m also a lover of a good bargain! And these are quite frankly, “for the money” a total no brainer.I’m a middle aged guy, and over the years have owned a great many headphones, earphones, IEMs etc, so of course these ZAXs are gonna be compared to a lot of other ear goggles I have owned, some costing £500 and up.What can I say that’s not already been said about these? They’re amazingly good IEMs, like really astoundingly good.8 drivers in a design which is so comfortable and light they almost “disappear”, leaving you to luxuriate in a wonderfully rich, detailed and engaging listening experience is a marvel.I’ve been listening to a fair range of music through these, from electro and techno, to hip hop and jazz, to acoustic and classical. The zaxs make everything I’ve played through them sound just great. Some reviewers have said the highs are fatiguing and shrill, and bass is a bit lacking. Well let them stroke their beards and nitpick. Fact is, for under £60, these are the finest IEMs you could ever hope to find. One can’t expect much for that money nowadays. I’ve spent more during a trip to McDonalds! But seriously, how this is even possible, I have no idea. Its how far audio technology has come recently. The closest pair of ears I could compare them to cost well over £300, and these trounce them!I won’t mention the cable, because I won’t be using it, having bought KZs Bluetooth ear hooks, which compliment the units perfectly. So I won’t get my silver coated copper in a twist over that aspect.I’m using an iPhone XS and it’s surprising how loud these are even compared to other KZ models. I’m finding just above 50% is plenty, even outdoors. One tiny gripe is the tips. They’re thin and really cheap silicone and don’t really get a great seal. Easily fixed by buying some decent memory foam tips, but literally that is the ONLY bad thing I can say about these. So yeah, not to put too finer point on it, I am pretty much gobsmacked by these IEMs. Not even joking when I say if I’d have paid £200 plus for these I’d be thrilled with my purchase, but less than £60? And they even look super cool in matte black.I’m my recent quest for the best sound quality on a budget, I’ve found my grail, (for now) and if you’re a lover of music and read a lot of reviews, make this the last one you read before you pull the trigger…Happy listening.

Amazing sound - they really bring the music to life
This is a review for the ZAR-Black model without mic. These earphones have an amazing sound - they really bring the music to life. I am hearing subtle things in the mix and instruments that were previously drowned-out by other instruments.I am getting lost, listening to music and really enjoying the new details that these earphones give.A few observations...- As with all IEMs of this shape, they are fiddly to put on, but once in, they are comfortable and secure.- The cable is about 80cm which is just too short for me. I need to use a 1m extension cable with it.- The photos make it look as if they are open-backed with vents on the back. They're not - they are sealed.- The box that they come in is very basic, with just spare silicone ear ends.I paid around £65 and for that price I highly recommended them!

okay for price, VERY durable and will survive anything.
The first IEM that just refuses to break. the tone is a bit bass heavy (but you can eq out) clarity is pretty awesome for the price. THE THING WENT THROUGH MY WASHING MACHINE ACCIDENTLY AND STILL WORKS A FULL YEAR LATER, 10/10

These replaced my $300 Senheiser headphones
I don't normally write a review but this product is exceptionally good and I use it with my Kemper Profiler as well as recording all my youtube videos. Sounds amazing and super comfortable.

Definitely gotta break it in, sound suite me pretty good after around 10 hours of playback. I usually listen to hip hop and symphonies.Mic that came in the box didn’t work but support team sent me a new one

You Will Forget They Are In
I use the OpenShoxz bone-conductive headphones for my everyday usage. I joined my church worship team (Riverside Community, Nutley, NJ) just as they were deploying the Behrringer MX 32 system with remote body packs. They went with the corded option. I needed a pair of buds (YECH) because the cup headphones I tried to usein my first rehearsal with the system were uncomfortable and unsuitable for stage usage.I HATE stuff in my ear! And I need to hear what is going on around me while either listening to media or standing by for a call. This is why these ear buds most suprise me. I forget that they are in! I can hear everything on stage so crystal clear that I do not think about the source of the sound! They are not noise-cancelling, but sound isolating. I can also hear what is happening around me, but with the sound in the pods prioritized. I also do not feel awkward walking with these (another reason I HATE in-ear phones).Unfortunately, because allowing me to hear my surroundings as well as the OpenShoxz bone conductors do would defeat the purpose, I cannot use them full-time. Otherwise, I would buy a pair for my everyday usage. Fornow, OpenShoxz retains me as a satisfied customer, and well they should!Back to these headphones, the sound is clean with no mud. I could hear the snare, toms, kick, bass, lead rhythm, voices, keys clearly. We have two keyboardists. I can almost discerrn without looking at the channel meters on the app which keyboard I need to adjust. They are comfortable. I stuck with the manufacturer-supplied inserts. They worked fine. I had purchased the extra inserts, but will likely give them to someone who does have fit problems. Finally, the only change I would like to see is a better way to identify which is left or right. The markings are unpainted on transparent parts. It is hard to see the tiny L or R. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. They won't fit correctly and the sound will be crappy. I used the picture in the instructions to see how they should look when connected to the wire. It would have been much easier with some kind of foolproof marking. For USD $70, I got something that more than fulfills what I needed. I cannot imagine what would compel me to pay more.
