Excellent, Without Breaking The Bank
Review is for the Cuisinart 8 quart & 5 Quart stock pots. Both are light weight. Handles large enough for getting a good hold on the pot. Water comes to a rapid boil on stove top using a high BTU gas burner. I made soup in the 5 quart pot that simmered on low for an hour until done with an occasional stirring here and there; nothing stuck to the bottom or sides. That's a a big WAHOO for me 👍🏼

Excellent on many levels.
First, contrary to what some reviews have suggested, I believe that this is a 10 qt pot. The interior markings end at 9 Qts but there is 10 qt capacity above the last mark up to the rim. So it holds 10 qts technically but not practically or usefully. For me, that's not an issue at all. It's a great size for cooking pasta, soup, chili, ragu, etc. So many pots this size are taller. This one is slightly shorter and wider which makes it easier to store and probably a little easier to heat through with the contents not quite so deep. It performed really well browning beef chunks for ragu. I do believe the heating and browning was better and more even than my much more expensive stainless All-Clad pans. Clean up has been easy and the mirror finish is still looking great. Didn't think I'd find the cup markings inside so useful. How did I live without them? Pasta water amount is measured as it's filling up and always easy to be consistent. We often make a whole or double recipe of soups, chili, pasta sauces, divide equally and freeze half. No extra measuring now. Just use interior marks to determine half. This pot has been a dream to use, made things easier in both cooking and clean up, and has been so much more than I expected.

Great stockpot!
I love these Cuisinart parts. I already have a complete set with the glass covers, and jsut needed one larger stockpot for making homemade stocks and soups. This was exactly what I needed, and stacks nicely in the cabinet with the rest of my set.

Great for lg volume stock production
great pot but whoever shipped it didn't pack it well and it is dented. But it makes stock just fine.

Great quality cooking pot
I recently switched to this brand and love the pots and pans. I needed a bigger pan so I ordered this 8 quart . So easy to clean. Nothing sticks to it. I threw out my old pots and pans completely switched over. I will probably be buying a few more.

I love, love, love these kettles but, boo hoo, the 12-quarter is warped
This is a great kettle -- I love it. It is attractive and sturdy and the perfect size, for example, for the lentil stew I cook and freeze for later use. The price is right too. I shopped for kettles before buying this kettle and the 12-quarter size and am delighted with the value and quality provided. Wooohooo! I love these kettles. It is now Jan. 6, 2013 and I am finally using the 12-quart size for the first time. Unfortunately, I have a glass top stove and the bottom of the kettle is warped so I need to return it. The 8-quarter kettle is great, however. I've never had a kettle before with a warped bottom so this is a surprise to me.

Great purchase
I was shopping around for a nice sized stock pot (but nothing so huge that i couldn't wash it in the sink). I had it narrowed down between this pot (the Cuisanart 12 Quart) and the All-Clad 12 Quart. The fact that the Cuisinart is literally a third the price of the All-Clad made my decision a very easy one. The Cuisinart 12 quart pot is great. It has a nice thick bottom to prevent scorching, and has a large size which is more than ample for my all my needs. I am easily able to fit a large 10 pound chicken in it (or two smaller 6-7 lb birds) to make chicken stock. I simply cut up the chicken, throw in all the veggies in the fridge that are about to spoil, cover with water, bring to a boil, turn down to a simmer, and walk away. After about an hour, i take the chicken out, let it cool slightly, pull the meat off the bones, and return the bones back to the pot, and cook that down (on simmer) for another 2-3 hours. After it reduces down, I strain it through a colander (which you can line with cheese cloth for a finer strain), put it in a large bowl in the fridge overnight, then skim the layer of fat off the next morning, and voila...perfet, homemade delicious stock that is head and shoulders above the store bought variety. I usually freeze it in zipper bags or tupperware, and then when i need it, i pop it in the microwav. I use this stock for just about anything and everything...to braise veggies, to make rice (or especially risotto), great base for soups, etc. Oh yeah...about the pot. (sorry, got carried away there for a sec). The pot makes this entire process so easy and so care free, that i hardly have to monitor anything at all. I usually only tend to the pot in the beginning when it's starting to boil, and once i turn it down to a simmer, i basically don't need to check on it any further. The pot's bottom prevents burning or scorching. Prior to getting this pot, my largest pot was only an 8 quart pot. When i tried to make this chicken stock in the 8 quart, there were always boil overs, and because there was less room in the pot, some veggies were always getting burned on the bottom. None of this happens with the new Cuisinart 12 quart. There's ample room for even the largest of demands. While it's a bit cumbersome for everyday use, it's terrific to have such a large pot for making things like large amounts of stock, or cooking up some lobsters, or a New Orleans style crab/crawfish boil. Clean up is pretty easy, especially if you have one of those pull out spray nozzles in the sink. You can't beat the price or the quality.

I took a chance and ordered the 10 qt stockpot that was listed used but in like new condition for $48. The manufacturer’s box was very beaten up but, the pot and lid are in mint condition - no scratches or dents. Huge score on this item. It has some weight to it so it should last and the finishing looks impeccable. Perfect size for a smaller family when making south broth, pasta, pasta sauces and stews. Even for simmering small pot roasts. I’ll be watching the marketplace for other deals and won’t hesitate to purchase, knowing they too can be returned for refund is not satisfied.

This 8 Qt pot is just the right size for making stock, not to big, not too small. I'm switching over to stainless steel pots and pans because they can be cleaned really well. Stainless steel may me a little pricier than other pots but I think we get our money's worth because they should last longer as long as we take care of them.

We previously had the Le Creuset 12-quart stockpot that only lasted a couple of years because the bottom kept burning after each use even though we followed the care instructions. We replaced it with this Cuisinart 12-quart stockpot and are very happy with it so far after 2 years of use. Looking forward to getting many more years out of it!

Food did not scald the bottom and it was very easy to clean. Great pot to make soup, stews and chili.
