Review: I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more. I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews. I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize. Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free - pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you don’t try to set the hook like a maniac. Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper. Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches - still works. Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice. I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it. But in a pinch, it works. And is fun. Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight. I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap - haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes. Pros: Portability - can have one in the car all the time Reliable so far Nice feel in hand Light Cons: It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tip Lost the buttcap No other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod. Review: Not the best product on the market. Hoops have fallen off. Will not buy again

After driving by too many juicy looking fishing spots because I didn't have rod in my truck, I decided to buy a telescoping rod to keep under the front seat. This thing works great, and collapses down to a very compact size. It's not as sensitive as a high-end one-piece rod, but it is usable for sure. I paired it with Lews Hypermag 3000 spinning reel and it is very well balanced and lightweight. I can't wait to get some bigger bass with this combo once the spring comes. The shipping package was very nice and the rod was well protected. It also included a re-usable plastic piece that fits over the tip and wraps around the rod to protect it and keep it collapsed when you are not using it. I ended up sewing a little leather pouch to keep it in, but the plastic piece that is included would work just fine. I have tried a few other telescoping rods in the past and none of them lasted more than a few outings. This one feels like it will last a long time. I'll update the review if I run into any issues, but for now, 5 Stars!

I don’t usually do review and I would’ve gave it a higher rating but the rod broke on the second day I took it out. I bought this for my birthday trip to south Florida. I caught a little stingray and a catfish on it so it held up pretty good. I’d give it a better rating if it didn’t snap as fast and it was on my birthday when it broke so that was pretty upsetting. I might end up getting another one but still pretty pissed about it breaking off a rock before the line but all in all a good rod just wish mine didn’t break.

Best travel rod so far! The compass is what I needed for bass. I would always worry if cats would load up my line while fishing for bass and other smaller fish species as my previous telescopic rods seemed too flimsy for cats. I took this rod out for bass and landed an 18" Bass. 3rd of 4th cast after that I landed a 24" cat. Now fancy that! This rod held its own like a 1 piece or 2 piece rod would've done. Just when I was about to give up on telescopic rods, this rod has changed my mind! Standing ovation for Kastking!
