Speed light itself
So far I’m enjoying the lighting. This is great use for me to take pictures at night or low light pictures. I only had it for a day, so I can’t really say to much about it but so far I do love it.

This is a really good update to the older V1 flash and works great!
The media could not be loaded. I used to use all Sony flashes with my Sony camera, but decided to buy more affordable gear that worked more cohesively so started switching over to Godox gear. I'm glad I did, because these flashes have saved me a lot of money, and I have been able to buy more gear because of it. I now own multiple Godox flashes, and they always work flawlessly. I had the older V1 flash, and this updated Pro version is a definite step up in connectivity. With the old one, I would occasionally miss a flash, but with this new version, I have had nearly 100% firing, and am not noticing any missed flashes at all. The round head is cool in that it allows for more creative uses than the normal rectangle reflector, and you can add on all sorts of things to the front of the flash. Overall, I am extremely happy with this upgrade.

Consistent Performance and Efficiency!
There's a lot to love about this flash! The TTL/M feature was really useful for switching between automatic and manual modes. The battery life is very good as well since it is compatible with an external power pack. This helped extend the duration when I was shooting outdoors for a wedding at night. The quick recycle times (about 1-ish seconds) helped me create stylistic light drags in the bars and lounges. My event photography clients love the work I put out with this flash.I also really liked the Auto Focus Assist Beam and the sharp images that came out of it in really dark lighting conditions. The color temperature also remained stable because of the LED modeling lamp which came in really handy. This was a well worth upgrade over the V1!

Godox best for on or off camera flash
The media could not be loaded. This is a big upgrade from the original v1. Keep up the great work godox. This flash is great for on location flash and works perfectly with the xpro triggers.

Excellent speedlight; 76Ws power; fill-light flash better than a bounce card; built-in X wireless
With 76 Ws this is a powerful speedlight for on-camera use, and off-camera -- The round flash head is one of my favorite features, may be personal preference, but I think the light effect on the subject is just better, or it is because I am used to studio strobe lights. I do not have the original round flash head accessories at hand right now to test the V1PRO with them.Color reproduction and consistency is very good according to my subjective judgement. The V1PRO now features a manual button / switch to switch from TTL to MANUAL mode and vice versa. Same can still be accomplished by simple mode switch via the display and the respective mode button.TTL works fine for my SONY camera and attached lenses, meaning zoom and other settings like HSS are recognized and work just great. The 2W modeling light is a welcomed feature, maybe also because I am used to it from studio strobes -- a modeling light is a little helper that, once accustomed to it, it cannot be missed any longer. This 2W light can be adjusted to 10 power levels. The SU-1 fill light flash acts independently from the main flash and can be set to power levels of 1/1 to 1/128 -- it is definitely better than a regular common bounce card on a speedlight. Most valuable is the SU-1 feature probably to event and portrait photographers; however, it is a nice-to-have feature for several situations -- I like it very much. HSS is not yet available for the SU-1 and it cannot be used when the V1PRO is off-camera -- possible firmware upgrades may or may not solve that as I understand it. Having mentioned firmware upgrades, I didn't test that because there are none available at this point.Being able to charge the V1PRO directly via USB-C cable is a big feature to me. There is also an external charger available as accessory. Recycle time with the built-in battery is 1.3s for 1/1 output, and with an optional external power supply that number can even be reduced according to the description.Up to 100 full flashes are possible with one battery charge. The V1PRO has the X wireless system integrated and it can be used as a transmitter for other flashes (Godox X-wireless system) which eliminates the need for a separate transmitter. I also tested the V1PRO as a receiver unit with the GODOX X3S remote and that works flawless as well -- settings as well as the strength of the model light could be controlled just fine. In receiver mode the V1PRO's display illumination changes from white to orange indicating the RX mode. S1/S2 optic flash modes are available as well. The display screen is still the known dot matrix display which always looks a bit outdated nowadays, especially since I like the modern OLED touch screen display of the X3-S trigger so much. Such display would be a nice improvement to the V1PRO.So, the settings need to be set with the dial and mode buttons under the display -- the dial could offer a little better grip when rotating it, but maybe that's just me.All the other features of the V1PRO like HSS, Multi, 2nd curtain sync, FEC, are top of the line and expected for a speedlight at this price level and will do very well in most situations -- I acknowledge though, that there some advanced scenarios where more power is needed but that would be another price segment as well -- the V1PRO is very well-rounded and a professional quality tool, and definitely situated in the top level range of competitors -- I think it outperforms some more expensive speedlights, but that is personal preference. There V1PRO comes with a slim carrying bag that can be attached to a backpack or belt for mobile scenarios. Some gifts are also part of the package, like the 20 color filters, 3 diffusers (white, yellow, blue), and a two-sided reflector (white and silver) that can be strapped onto the flash -- the latter one is helpful to channel the light output for general photography, but I also like that for macro shots where I can limit the light direction nicely for close objects. The new GODOX V1PRO is the new flagship on-camera speedlight that comes at an elevated price level, but I am seeing the improvements over the predecessors. The ease of use of the V1PRO, and the fact it can be easily combined with some AD100's makes it a great choice of a speedlight in the top segment of on-camera flash that is very capable as off-camera flash as well.

Great for beginners!
I am relatively new to the world of photography and most of the limited experience I do have, has been in my light controlled review studio. I knew that there would come a time that I would need to review some stuff outside and in less than ideal conditions, so I was super pleased to get my hands on this flash. It connected immediately to my Sony a6000, with no fuss or updates needed. To get my feet wet so to speak using this flash I took it to a family reunion that was held at an outdoor, unlit picnic shelter. With this flash I was able to get great shots even though basically everyone had a strong back light in the shelter. The ability to immediately and consistently adjust the flash angle and strength was a major boon to my needs. I took photos fairly consistently for a few hours and never even started to get low on battery. I can see if you're taking consistent burst shots you may burn through the battery, but for my use it is more than sufficient. As with everything else in the photography world I am excited to get more experience with this flash so that I know when and how to use it's many features!I would definitely recommend this to either a casual photographer or professional.

For those looking for a high-quality flash with a reasonable price.
I recently upgraded to the Godox V1 Pro S Round Head Camera Flash for Sony, and it's been a great feature in my photography setup. Having used various Godox models over the years, including the TT350 and AD200PRO, I was excited to see how the V1 Pro S would stack up against its predecessors—and I’m happy to report it exceeds expectations.First off, the power and performance of this flash are impressive. With a robust 76Ws output, it provides strong, consistent lighting suitable for a variety of shooting conditions, from studio settings to outdoor locations. The round head design is a standout feature, offering a softer and more even light spread compared to traditional rectangular flashes, which is particularly beneficial for portrait photography. The V1 Pro S shines in its heat dissipation capabilities, allowing for up to 100 consecutive shots before overheating becomes a concern. This extended shooting capacity is a significant advantage, letting me focus on capturing those perfect moments without worrying about the flash cutting out.One of my favorite features is the 2.4G wireless transmission, which allows the V1 Pro S to function seamlessly as either a master or slave unit. This wireless flexibility, coupled with TTL support, enables quick adjustments on the fly—ideal for fast-paced shoots. Additionally, the dedicated TCM/M switch simplifies switching between TCM (Through-The-Lens Metering) and Manual mode, streamlining the workflow. The V1 Pro S also includes a detachable sub-flash that doubles as a fill light, providing even more creative control over lighting setups. The head’s swivel capabilities—0-330 degrees horizontally and -7 to 120 degrees vertically—offer incredible versatility for various angles, whether using direct flash or bounce techniques.Color accuracy has seen noticeable improvement with this model. The V1 Pro S delivers more natural color casts compared to the original V1, thanks to an enhanced CRI from 87.8 to 97.3. This refinement makes post-processing easier and adds a vibrant touch to both photo and video work.Battery life is stellar, with the 2980mAh Li-ion battery providing up to 500 full-power flashes on a single charge. The new V30 battery, with its built-in USB-C charging, is a thoughtful upgrade, offering convenience without the need for a separate charger. It’s also compatible with the older V1, ensuring a smooth transition for existing users. The build quality of the V1 Pro S is solid and durable, though it is slightly heavier than some other flashes. The included accessories—color filters, diffusers, and a flash reflector—add great value, providing everything needed right out of the box. The new pouch design, featuring a small pocket for the mini stand, is a clever touch that keeps accessories organized. While the detachable SU-1 flash is a nice feature, it can be a bit cumbersome to balance with the main flash. The extra port for the PB960 power pack might seem niche, as I prefer carrying additional V30 batteries, but it could be useful for some users.Overall, the Godox V1 Pro S is a significant upgrade with its enhanced features, professional-grade performance, and thoughtful design improvements. For those invested in the Godox ecosystem or looking for a high-quality flash with a reasonable price tag, the V1 Pro S is a fantastic choice. Whether you’re shooting weddings, portraits, or events, this flash will elevate your work. Highly recommended!

Excellent Pro Level Flash/ Speedlite
I have always liked the Godox products when ever I was at our local camera store and compared them to the OEM products from Nikon, and of course, they where more expensive. For many years my photography I was doing never needed a flash/ speedlight until now. I'm retired now and I find I am now doing more studio work as well as using flashes outside.I first brand I thought was Godox having every type of flash to cover my needs. I was able to order the Goodx V1 Pro S but I wasn't too worried not being a Nikon version because I will be ordering a Godox X3N to trigger the flash and the flash mounted on my SmallRig L Bracket. The flash is able to flash 100 Continuous Shots At Full Power which is amazing because my new camera can shot up to 120 frames per second in Jpeg. The Godox V1 Pro has a 7.2V/2980mAh removeable Lithium Battery or you can just leave the battery because the battery now has a USB-C port on the side of the battery which a optional Godox PB960 Power Pack for all day shotting. The flash also includes a External Flash SU-1 that mounts in front of the flash if you require a fill flash. The flash has a conveniently located TTL/M Switch that your able to toggle between TTL and manual mode with a single click. It also comes with 20 different color filters, 3 diffusers, white, blue, yellow and a bounce light reflector as well as a kick stand for off camera flash. The Wireless Connection on the V1Pro supports 2.4G wireless transmission and allows it to be seamlessly integrated with other Godox flashes and the Godox X3N.This is the first time I ever bought a round flash, traditional a rectangular but it makes so much since. The round flash gives off a more even light and when flashing it on the white wall, you can easily see the flash pattern compared to a rectangular flash. There is so much you can do with this flash, I just don't know where to start LOL. This is an amazing Pro Level flash that is more flexible and versatile then even Nikon's top OEM flash that cost is double the cost. For my first Pro Level Flash, this is an excellent choice when you compare what this flash has to offer, you will see Godox products are an excellent option over OEM's.
